Sleep Better Professor Graham Law and Dr Shane Pascoe are professionals working - photo 1

Sleep Better

Professor Graham Law and Dr Shane Pascoe are professionals working in different ways, on different continents, in the field of sleep. They are passionate about the importance of sleep and are concerned how society has not paid enough attention to this essential part of life. They hope this book will help people to deal with their sleep issues through addressing the myths associated with their slumber. They are authors of Feel Good How to Change Your Mood and Cope with Whatever Comes Your Way , Capstone Publishing, 2014.

Professor Graham Law is a sleep scientist with more than 25 years research experience, having published more than 90 research papers and heading a department of 30 research and academic staff. He is Professor of Medical Statistics at the University of Lincoln. Professor Law set up the Sound Asleep Laboratory, which is working towards methods to improve sleep in a way that will have a significant effect on sleep health and well-being. He was elected to the executive committee of the British Sleep Society and is a member of the UK Biobank Expert group on sleep. In his spare time he is husband to Nicki, a beautiful and intelligent woman, and Dad to two brilliantly clever, lovely and caring children, Bethan and Sophie (they know which they are).

Dr Shane Pascoe is a psychologist with 20 years of experience helping people with a variety of issues often involving sleep. His gentle, questioning approach has benefitted many people in his thriving psychology practice. With a young family, sleep is the one area of Shanes life that influences all other areas determining mood, energy and temperament. Whether Shane is present and in the moment or not is largely due to how much sleep he got. For the last few years his wife has battled with postnatal depression. How good was your sleep? is the first thing he asks in the morning and he asks the same one question in every single consultation with patients. Its importance resonates, and when sleep improves it makes the most difference.
