DEDICATION

I dedicate this book to my wife, Greta, who so faithfully supported me and accepted some of my duties in the home while I tended to teaching, business, and church affairs. She was truly an angel in my life who graciously allowed me to support my family, nurture my students, and serve my church.

I also thank my children who sometimes had a father a little less than they may have liked but never complained and always accepted their responsibilities within a large family. They have made me very proud of them for their own leadership in their families, churches, and training their own children to love and serve Jesus Christ. May that tradition continue through many generations to come, God helping us.

Half of the proceeds from this book will be given toward scholarships of children who attend the Potter House Christian School in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Through my anecdotes you will profit from the wisdom it took me forty years to gain. This collection ofwit is done in a concise way with as few words as I could muster. It has been said that brevity is the soul of wit. Too many writings use too many words to explain investment savvy. This one doesnt.

I write this book because I am a regular guynot terribly wealthy, but having enough to do whatever I like in life. Too often, the only people who share their success and how they accomplished it are people who have become multi, multi-millionaires. That is not me, but my experience is worth knowing. If my wife and I could begin this journey while raising one child with another on the way, after graduating from college with a teaching degree and $40 in our pockets, then almost anyone can do this.

You must realize I write from a Christians perspective, and from the cultural background of a guy who lived most of his life in Western Michigan. I ran a business that owned and/or managed between four hundred and nine hundred units at any one time, from single-family homes to one hundred-unit communities. If you own a business that manages/owns communities of several hundred units, this book can still be helpful.
