The Tarot Spellbook is a journey through the 78 cards of the Rider-Waite-Smith deck, providing a unique spell that corresponds with each card.
Connecting with the 78 cards of the tarot in a meaningful way can be overwhelming, which can lead to scouring reference books and memorizing meanings rather than actually using the cards themselves. The Tarot Spellbook gives you a fun way to learn the cardsand a practical way to work with them beyond divination and reading.
Each of the 78 spells in The Tarot Spellbook is categorized into one of eight popular spell categories:self, change, love, money, career, wellness, protection, and home. Because the lessons taught by tarot cards are those that apply to all aspects of life, from karmic soul lessons to the smaller daily events, the spells in The Tarot Spellbook cover everything you need for a variety of common life situations.
Looking to manifest your desires? See the Magician card and spell.
Need to find clarity? Work with the Moon card and spell to dispel illusion.
Each entry outlines the cards overall meaning, and provides 23 journal questions to aid in introspection, reflection, and further connection to the tarot card. Each spell connects to a dominant theme of the card, helping you connect to the card on a personal level, and furthering your knowledge of witchcraft. From candle magick, to spell jars, to ritual baths, and more, The Tarot Spellbook utilizes spellwork of all kinds to truly aid you in expanding your magickal practice on all fronts.

Introduction

H EY, MAGICK BABE! IM SO GLAD YOURE HERE. ARE YOU READY TO WORK WITH TAROT IN A WHOLE NEW WAY? IM ALWAYS LOOKING FOR WAYS TO DEEPEN MY CONNECTION TO THE CARDS, AND IM EXCITED TO SHARE WITH YOU WAYS TO WORK WITH TAROT BEYOND SPREADS AND READINGS.

The Tarot Spellbook helps you deepen your knowledge of the cards and provides ways to work with tarot in your craft. As a professional tarot reader, I know that tarot can be tricky to get comfortable with. We can read about card meanings until were blue in the face, but when it comes time to actually take action... what then? It can be hard to find a clear-cut way to utilize the cards in your everyday life.

When I was beginning my journey, I found it helpful to place the cards into real-life context to become more familiar with them. Tarot is now my favorite magickal tool, in part because no matter what situation I find myself in, theres at least one card that relates and can offer wisdom and insight. And, as youll see in The Tarot Spellbook, the lessons of tarot naturally lend themselves to an everyday spellbook. This book helps you translate the teachings of the cards into spells that you can use as you go through the different chapters, obstacles, and transitions of your life.

Im so happy youve picked up this book. The Tarot Spellbook offers you a way to truly connect with tarot. So, grab a warm drink, cozy up on the couch with your tarot deck, and take a few deep breaths. Learning about the cards is about to get easier and a lot more fun. Lets go!

Before we dive into the ways to use The Tarot Spellbook, lets talk about who can use it. Basically, this book is for any and every kick-ass witch who picks it up! Witches of every experience level and path can find meaning and connection within these spells.

  • You do not have to be Wiccan to practice witchcraft or use this book.
  • The Tarot Spellbook is beginner friendly. It was written to further your knowledge of tarot and help you learn.
  • You do not have to be a tarot expert to use the cards in spellwork. Part of the intention behind including tarot cards in spellwork is to learn more about tarot as you work with the cards.

Okay, time to dive in! The spells in this book are based on the illustrations created by Pamela Colman Smith for the Rider-Waite-Smith deck, which is generally regarded as the first modern tarot deck. If youre interested in furthering your knowledge in tarot (which I suspect you are!), I encourage you to learn more about Pamela Colman Smith and her contributions to the world of art and the occult.

Here are ways you can use and work with The Tarot Spellbook.

To further your knowledge and connection with the cards. Tarot is tricky. I totally get it. It can be overwhelming, and there are always new nuances to learn. For me, simply reading about the cards wasnt enough to get things to stick and make sense. What helped the puzzle pieces fall into place was integrating their lessons into my witchcraft practice. Working with tarot in this more physical sense beyond card spreads gave me a deeper understanding and clearer reference points for the cards.

As... a spellbook! Who would have thought, right? The Tarot Spellbook was written to be used as an everyday spellbook, even if furthering your knowledge and connection with cards comes secondary to the spells themselves. Remember: The lessons of tarot extend to all aspects of life. Theres a spell for all your basics, from the big life lessons of the major arcana to the smaller everyday workings of the minor arcana.

To take a deeper dive into a cards meaning. Do you keep drawing the same card over and over? And youve all but screamed, But what do I do with this?! Well, now you have something to do with those repeat offenders. If youre drawing the same card, its helpful to put it into action in your craft. Enter, The Tarot Spellbook.

To reflect on your relationship with the card. Youll find a few journal questions to go along with each spell and tarot card. These questions help provide further introspection, reflection, and connection with your card and spell. You can write your answers in a journal or contemplate them during meditation. I recommend doing the journal questions after your spellwork is complete.

One more thing I want to note: Each spell focuses on one main aspect or lesson of the card. It is by far not the only aspect or lesson of each card! Tarot is so nuanced, and there are multiple lessons, insights, and nuggets of wisdom in each card. If there are aspects of a card that arent discussed in this book but that pique your interest, I encourage you to branch out and further your knowledge. We are forever students of tarot!

Setting Up for Spellwork

I ts important to take a few minutes to set up and prep before jumping right into spellwork. Youll want to settle into the energy and get clear and focused before you begin. Here are a few common ways witches set up:

Read the spell completely beforehand. Its best to go into spellcasting with a frame of reference for the steps of the spell, rather than reading them for the first time on the fly. This will give you a good idea of how much time youll need and what will be expected of you.

Gather your supplies. Theres nothing more frustrating than getting halfway through a spell and realizing you dont have the ingredients needed to finish it. (Not that Ive ever been there. *cough cough*)
