Family life

William and Kate have three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. They have homes in London and Norfolk, and own a cocker spaniel dog named Lupo. The couple spend their time carrying out royal duties and supporting charities and issues that they are passionate about. They are known as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, a title given to them by the Queen when they were married.

Three kings

Prince William is a member of the British royal family. The Queen is his grandmother. When his father, Prince Charles, becomes king, William will be next in line to the throne. After his fathers reign, Prince George will likely become king. Its an important job, one that the princes prepare for their whole lives.

Williams Royal Family

The British royal family is made up of Queen Elizabeth II and her whole family. It is a family like any other, with moms, dads, grandparents, cousins, uncles, and aunts. So why are they so important?

The Queen

Elizabeth II is Queen of England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland, as well as 15 overseas territories. She has reigned since February 1952, which makes her the longestruling monarch in British history.

What does the Queen do?

The Queen is Head of State and the Head of the Church of England. It is the Queens role to represent the UK both at home and abroad, and to host the heads of other states when they visit the UK. She leads ceremonial occasions, such as Remembrance Day, and celebrations, such as Trooping the Colour. The Queen is also a patron for many charities and associations. She spends her time reading state papers from the government and visiting schools, hospitals, charities, and other places to show her support for them.

Princess Elizabeth Windsor married Philip Mountbatten, Prince of Greece and Denmark, in 1947. After their wedding, Philip gave up his Greek royal title and became Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. The Queen and Prince Philip have four children: Charles, Anne, Andrew, and Edward. They also have eight grandchildren (William is one of them). They have great-grandchildren, too. The role of the royal family is to support the Queen in her duties, and carry out public duties of their own.

Early Days

Prince William Arthur Philip Louis Windsor was born on June 21, 1982, at St. Marys Hospital, London. As is traditional for the royal family, his birth was announced by a notice placed inside the gates of Buckingham Palace.
