Dear Reader,
J udging from the fact that a study titled Leading from Here to There caught your eye, I already know something about you that I admire: You likely have an interest in developing the leadership gift God has entrusted to your care. You have a hunger to get better at leadingand thats my desire for you, as well! Heres why:
Leadership matters. Whether you lead a top-100 global business or a start-up with three employees; a multi-campus church or a tiny congregation that is the only beacon of light in its community; a team of creatives or a team of accountants; a project, a process, or the team of people you call familyno matter what the sphere, your leadership makes all the difference in the future of those you lead. And bright, godly, fired-up leaders will make the kinds of differences that will bring about a better future for our world.
Leadership development is a lifelong pursuit, and I am far from done growing as a leader. But in the forty-plus years I have been leading, Ive come to recognize a handful of areas that are critical for every leader to develop, no matter where they are on their leadership journey. In the Leading from Here to There DVD sessions, Ive done my best to unpack each of these areas in highly practical ways. The guide you hold in your hands will help you process your takeaways from each video session and apply them tomorrow in your leadership environment.
Take your leadership development seriously and go at it every day with all the passion and commitment that you can. And lets partner together to move the purposes of God ahead in this world.
Blessings,
Bill Hybels

Welcome
to Leading From Here to There.
T his study guide is a companion resource to the Leading from Here to There video experience, and is designed to help you examine your leadership potential, learn alongside others on the leadership journey, and practice putting new skills into action through activities specifically designed for a workplace or ministry setting.
The study is structured for groups of leaders to experience together. These learning groups can be comprised of intact teams within an organization, church, or ministryor can be a cohort of leaders from different departments within one organization, or even different organizations altogether. What unites each learning group is each members desire to get better at leading.
HOW THIS STUDY WORKS:
Week 1 Learning Group Gathering Video & Discussion | Weeks 2-3 Skills in Action | Week 4 Now What? |
Ideally, five learning group gatherings (one per video session) should be scheduled at a pace of once per month over a five-month period, giving you time to practice new leadership skills actively by implementing them in the real world. By spacing your gatherings a month apart, you have time to choose one of the Skills in Action activities (provided) and then engage this new skill between sessions.
Each learning group session takes approximately 90 minutes and includes the key components described below, which help you leverage the principles and practices discussed in its corresponding Leading from Here to There video session:
