Easy Knits for Beautiful Yarns: 21 Shawls, Hats, Sweaters & More Designed to Showcase Special Yarns: summary, description and annotation

We offer to read an annotation, description, summary or preface (depends on what the author of the book "Easy Knits for Beautiful Yarns: 21 Shawls, Hats, Sweaters & More Designed to Showcase Special Yarns" wrote himself). If you haven't found the necessary information about the book — write in the comments, we will try to find it.

Drawn to a beautiful, unique yarn, but not sure what to do with it? Look no further. Gorgeous hand-dyed, variegated, self-striping, speckled, and other fun yarns abound for the knitter today, but sometimes the color variations and changes can make it difficult to find patterns that allow the yarn to shine. Oftentimes, the simpler the pattern, the more the yarn gets to take center stage. With this in mind, Toby designed all of the pieces in this bookhats, shawls, mittens, sweaters, and moreto let the yarn be the main feature.
The 21 designs are written at a level for the motivated knitter who has made a scarf or two and is ready to move on to something a little more interesting and unique. Sidebars with photos and notes explain techniques that may be unfamiliar to beginners so that you can fearlessly make any piece. More experienced knitters can relax into these patterns and enjoy their showcase yarn as it slides along their needles and becomes a masterpiece of color.

T his book would not exist without the support and hard work of several people. First and foremost, Id like to thank my mom, Leslie Feierstone-Barna, for her constant championing, late-night pep talks, unconditional support, and sample knitting. Thank you also to my dad, Dennis Barna, not just for feeding me home-cooked food but also for raising me to see the world as an artist and to treat all of my endeavors as art.

For this book, I had another opportunity to work with my very favorite knitwear photographer, Gale Zucker. Without her incredible eye, this book would not be what it is. The adorable Randi Nicole Jean, who is not just a model but also an accomplished violinist and IT specialist(!!), modeled several of the patterns.

The photographs for the tutorials were taken by my intrepid boyfriend, Chad Ferber.

Lastly, a huge thank you to my BKFF (best knitting friend forever), Amanda Hinski, for sharing my enthusiasm about new projects and for always responding with Absolutely! when I say, I can get this done by Monday, right?

This easy cowl knits up quickly in a bulky yarn; it also makes a great last-minute gift! Using one skein of each color, its a great opportunity to have fun choosing coordinating colors, along with some great statement buttons.

Pro tip: If you want the stripes to really stand out, make sure to choose two colors that are very different from each other. If you choose two colors that are similarfor example, a variegated plus a semi-solid that appears in the variegatedyou wont see the stripes as much. Instead, it will appear almost as one color.
