Chapter 2: The Rules of the Game
S olitaire is a very easy card game designed to pass the time.
However, in some ways, it has a brain use as well. It is not just a no-brainer game like the candy crush where it seems not using much of our mental activity nor our hand eye coordination, like the running game on mobile.
The Classic solitaire or the Klondike is designed in such a way that a person can enjoy his own time, since the game does not require a competitor to play it.
There are many variations of solitaire and each variation has its own layout and its own rule of the game.
F or the Classic Solitaire or the Klondike, the player has to shuffle the card well and then distribute in seven piles of cards, called the Tableau .
The first pile of cards has one card, the second has 2 cards, the 3rd pile has 3 cards, the fourth pile has four cards, the 5th pile of cards has 5 cards, the 6th pile has 6 cards and 7th card pile has 7 cards.
It is distributed in such a way that the last card in each pile is shown while the rest are hidden. The first pile has no hidden card, the second has one, the third has two hidden cards and so on until the 7th pile where it has 6 hidden cards.
On the upper right hand side, you should have an extra space for four cards to make your build. The build is where you are going to try to arrange the cards from Ace to King in each of the four suits.
Playing Klondike is very easy its just keeping the game moving. The ultimate goal of the game is to arrange the shuffled cards in correct order and suit color after following certain rules.
A fter the cards have been laid out on proper order, you can now start the actual game. Whenever you will see an Ace , you will lay it on the upper right hand side. You can move the cards on the rows below in alternate colors, usually red and black. You can only put Kings whenever there is an empty slot.
O nce you don't have any more moves available arranging the highest available to the smallest available cards in proper order, you can now deal your stack of cards either by one's or by three's depending on your preference.
Most Americans would like to deal the stack of cards in sets of three facing up. You can only take the cards from the top to bottom. You have to always keep in mind that your ultimate goal is to arrange your build from Ace to King in proper order in each of the suits - Clubs, Spades, Hearts and Diamonds.
