The first thing you need to do is examine the relative visual measurements of your subjects face. (It helps to have a photograph in hand thats been taken straight-on; in fact, drivers license photos and passport photos are useful for this exercise.) Take note of:

HEIGHT: The height of the forehead region, from the hairline to the top of the eyebrows (in the case of baldness, consider the boundaries of the former hair line); the distance between the eyebrows and the tip of the nose (encompassing the eye and cheek region); and the distance between the tip of the nose to the bottom of the chin (the length of the jaw area).

WIDTH: The width of the forehead (the distance between the temples); the width of the cheeks (the distance between the protrusions of the cheekbones); and the width of the jawbone midway between its widest and narrowest point.

The Seven Faces and What They Represent
