THE EVERYTHING SPELLS & CHARMS BOOK
Skye Alexander
2nd Edition
Dear Reader,
Do you believe in magic? Whether or not you realize it, you've undoubtedly done magic spells in the past. Blowing out candles on a birthday cake, for instance, is a good luck spell. Hanging an evergreen wreath on your front door is a form of protection magic. Prayers, chants, oaths, and many everyday practices are types of magic. Simply put, magic is the art of using thoughts, words, and deeds to cause certain changes to occur and to produce outcomes through means that conventional science can't explain.
Initially, you might be a bit skeptical about delving into magic. Hollywood tends to focus on the sensational aspects of magic, which can make the whole idea of magic seem scary or even ridiculous. In reality, most magicians don't put hexes on people; they don't turn frogs into princes or fly through the air on broomsticks. Instead, they use magic to help them get better jobs, attract the right romantic partner, safeguard their homes and families, and improve their health.
Maybe you're curious. Maybe you've dabbled with magic a bit and want to learn more. Maybe you're ready to take charge of your own destiny. If so, this book is for you.
With best wishes,
Skye Alexander

Introduction
WHEN YOU HEAR the word magician , do you imagine a bearded old man wearing a pointed hat and waving a jeweled wand, or a gypsy woman in a turban hunched over a crystal ball? In reality, most magicians look pretty much like you. They work at regular jobs, live in typical homes, raise families, and lead normal lives. The mechanic who repairs your car or the waitress at the corner caf might be a magician. What's different about them is they seem to be a little luckier than other people. That's because magicians know a secret: Luck doesn't just happen, you create it for yourself.
Magician comes from the Latin word magi (the plural of magus ), meaning wise men or women. The best-known magi are the Three Wise Men referred to in the Bible, who came from the East to offer gifts to the baby Jesus. Magi can be healers, shamans, priests or priestesses, astrologers, dowsers, seers anyone who has learned to access the cosmic web of energy and information that animates the universe and to direct it for his or her purposes. If you choose to seek out this knowledge for yourself, you, too, will enter that rank by the time you finish this book.
