While this book may launch you toward or, in some cases, invite you more deeply into the magical world of tarot, experience is our best teacher: It is only with experience that we trust the words on the page and ourselves, and are able to put everything into practice.

The first tarot book I bought was The Tarot by Alfred Douglas. Twenty-five years after purchasing it, I had the pleasure of meeting Alfred Douglas at the UK Tarot Conference, and was able to thank him personally and give him one of my tarot decks. Id like to thank him again here for the book that inspired me to take the cards into my own hands.
