William F. Hanna holds a PhD from Boston College and has taught United States history throughout his career. He is presently a visiting lecturer at Bridgewater State University and serves as president of the Old Colony History Museum in Taunton, Massachusetts. A past president of the Lincoln Group of Boston, he is also the author of A History of Taunton, Massachusetts and Avon, Massachusetts, 17201988. He speaks and writes widely on New England history.
