Homelessness: New England and Beyond first appeared as a special issue of the
New England Journal of Public Policy in May 1992. Of the many people who
made this book possible, there are some who deserve special acknowledgment:
Marcy Murningham, who worked with a number of the authors on their articles
and invariably molded the raw ingredients of a rough outline into a polished,
articulate exposition; Candace Chick, who was responsible for design and
production management; and Geraldine Morse, copy editor extraordinaire.
