Georgia was the first one to let eighteen years olds vote and gave women full property rights. Gainesville, Georgia is the chicken capital of the world. Georgia is the biggest state east of the Mississippi. Georgia is nicknamed The Sunbelt. Idaho was part of the Louisiana Purchase. Idaho is number one in producing potatoes.

Idaho has 80 mountain ranges. The Oregon Trail and the California Trail cross southern Idaho. Idaho had the first nuclear plant. Hawaii is 2,390 miles from California. It is 3, 850 miles from Japan. Hawaii is unique, in that it has its own time zone, called (Hawaiian Standard Time).

They do not go by Daylight Savings Time. Indiana has almost half of the cropland in corn. Richard Gatling from Indiana, invented the machine gun in 1862. The first gas pump was invented by Elwood Haynes in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Wabash, Indiana was the first to receive electric streetlights in 1880. John Deere and Cyrus McCormick improved farm machinery.

In Alton, Illinois the tallest man was born in 1918. The man weighed 491 pounds. He stood 8 feet, 11 inches. The man wore a size 37 shoe. Dairy Queen started in Joilet, Illinois on June 22, 1940. Iowa is unique, in that it is the only state that starts with two vowels.

Abraham Lincoln and Jefferson Davis were both born in Kentucky nine months apart. Mammoth Cave is the second oldest tourist attraction in the United States. Daniel Boone founded Boonesboro, Kentucky. Maine was discovered by the Vikings a 1,000 years ago. Maine is unique, in that it is the only state that has one syllable. Maine produces 99% of all the blueberries in the United States.

Eastport, Maine is the most eastern city in the United States. Maryland is unique, in that it had the first public school, called King Williams. It opened in 1696. The University of Maryland had the first dental school. The first refrigerator was invented in Baltimore, Maryland in 1803. C. C.

Massachusetts is unusual, in that the chocolate chip cookie was invented in 1930 in Whitman. Volleyball was invented in 1895, in Holyoke, Massachusetts by William Morgan. Massachusetts has the second largest cranberry crop in the United States. The first assigned telephone numbers were located in Detroit, Michigan in 1879. Soda Pop was created in 1866 in Detroit, Michigan. The first air conditioned car was invented in 1939 in Detroit.

Minnesota has 90,000 miles of shoreline. Frank C. Mars of Minnesota invented the Milky Way candy bar in1923, Snickers bar in 1930 and Three Musketeers in 1937. Minnesota has The Mall of America located in Bloomington. It is 9.5 million square feet in size. The western part of Minnesota was part of the Louisiana Purchase.

Mississippi is the United States leading producer of cotton. Joseph A. Biedenharn bottled Coca-Cola in 1894 in Vicksburg, Mississippi. The Spanish explorer, Hernando de Soto, found the Mississippi River in 1540. Missouri is unique, in that it is first in the production of lead. Louis. Louis.

Ice-Tea was served at the worlds fair by Richard Blechyden. In St. Joseph, Missouri in 1889, Aunt Jemima pancake flour was invented. Dr Pepper and 7-Up was served at the worlds fair in St. Louis. There is not a period after Dr Missouri is unique, in that it has 5, 500 caves.

A large portion of Montana was in the Louisiana Purchase. Yellowstone National Park is the first national park in the nation. Montana is called the Treasure State. Kool Aid was invented in 1927 by Edward E. Perkins. Kearney, Nebraska is unique, in that it is exactly located between Boston, Massachusetts and San Francisco, California.

The Western part of Nebraska was gained by treaty after the Mexican War in 1848. Nebraska is different, in that it has more miles of river than any other state. Montana has 100 species of mammals. 911, the emergency communications system, was developed in Lincoln, Nebraska. Nevada is unique, in that it is the largest gold producing state in the United States. Hard Hats used for construction, were invented in 1933 for workers on the Hoover Dam.

New Hampshire was the first to free itself from England. New Hampshire is different, in that the first free public library was founded in 1833 in Peterborough. The first alarm clock was invented in 1787 by Levi Hutchins in Concord, New Hampshire. New Jersey is different, in that it has more horses than Kentucky. New Jersey had the first drive in theater in 1933. New Jersey is unique, in that the Statue of Liberty is located within the state boundary.
