Ilvija Bruge is an Associated Researcher at the Latvian Institute of International Affairs. She holds a BA in Political Science and an MA in International Relations from Riga Stradins University, and an MSc in Social Anthropology from the University of Edinburgh where she is currently a PhD candidate. She is a co-editor and author of several articles and books and has worked as a research analyst for a UK-based political risk advisory and as a national expert for various international research projects. Her research interests are linked to socio-economic, historic, political and cultural development in the post-Soviet area.
Karlis Bukovskis is the Deputy Director and a researcher at the Latvian Institute of International Affairs (LIIA), the author of numerous articles, and the scientific editor of several books. Bukovskis is also a lecturer on global political economy, international financial system and the EU integration at Riga Graduate School of Law and Riga Stradins University. He has been Associate Fellow of the European Council on Foreign Relations since December 2017. Bukovskis has dealt with the institutional, political and economic future of the EU and the EMU not only as an analyst and frequent media commentator, but also while serving at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia, the Secretariat of the Latvian presidency of the Council of the European Union (where he developed the presidency's six-month work programme), and also at the Ministry of Finance of Latvia.
Michael Holmes is Senior Lecturer in Politics at Liverpool Hope University and Co-Director of the Lille-Liverpool European Institute. He was also Senior Visiting Research Scholar at ESPOL the European School of Politics, Universit Catholique de Lille in 2017, a position funded by the Conseil Rgional Hauts-de-France. His work focuses on the impact of European integration on political parties, with a particular emphasis on left-wing parties, and on Ireland's relationship with the European Union. He is also active in the FEPS Next Left research group.
Yiannos Katsourides holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Cyprus. He is the Director of the Prometheus Research Institute and adjunct lecturer at the Department of Social and Political Sciences of the University of Cyprus. He held visiting fellowships at the Hellenic Observatory of the European Institute of the LSE and the Institute of Commonwealth Studies of the University of London. His research interests include Cyprus and Greek politics, radical left and extreme right political parties, political participation and the Europeanisation of political parties. He is the author of three books: The history of the Communist Party in Cyprus (2014); The radical left in government: the cases of SYRIZA and AKEL (2016); The Greek Cypriot nationalist right in the era of British colonialism (2017). His articles have appeared in West European Politics, South European Society and Politics, and in the Journal of European Integration, among others.
Julien Navarro is Associate Professor of Political Science at Lille Catholic University and the Francophone Chair of Political Science at the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna. His research interests include European Union politics, parliamentary institutions and political elites. His articles have appeared in Politiques et Socits, Revue Franaise de Science Politique, French Politics, Revue Internationale de Politique Compare and the Journal of Legislative Studies. He is the author of Les dputs europens et leur rle:sociologie interprtative des pratiques parlementaires (2009) and the co-editor of Le cumul des mandats: causes et consquences (2013).
Nikolaos (Nikos) Nikolakakis is Lecturer of Politics in the British University in Egypt. He obtained his Bachelor's degree in Political Science and History from the Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences of Athens. He then continued his education in the University of Bologna, Italy, where he studied Law. Following that, he received his Master's in International Politics and Security from the University of Dundee, where he commenced his doctoral studies that led to his PhD in European Politics. His research interests relate predominantly to European Party Politics, the process of European Integration, the European Radical Left, as well as Greek, Italian, Spanish and French politics. He is currently working on a monograph comparing the effects of European integration on the stance of the European radical left and has previously published work on the Greek Coalition of the Radical Left, as well as on the Party of the European Left.
Jorge del PalacioMartn is Lecturer of History of Political Thought at Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, Madrid. His main research interests are Contemporary Political Ideologies and Italian Politics. He is co-editor of a recently published book on the geography of populism Geografa del populismo:un viaje por el universo del populismo desde sus orgenes hasta Trump (2017).
Tapio Raunio is Professor of Political Science at the University of Tampere. His research interests cover legislatures and political parties, the Europeanisation of domestic politics, semi-presidentialism and the Finnish political system. His recent publications include Connecting with the electorate? Parliamentary communication in EU affairs (2014), a special issue of the Journal of Legislative Studies (2014, co-edited with Katrin Auel); The changing balance of political power in Finland (2016, co-edited with Lauri Karvonen and Heikki Paloheimo); and Challenging executive dominance: legislatures and foreign affairs, a special issue of West European Politics (2017, co-edited with Wolfgang Wagner).
Carlos Rico Motos is Lecturer in Political Science at the Department of International Relations, Universidad Pontificia Comillas ICAI-ICADE (Madrid). His research focuses on the field of theories of democracy, civic education and models of representation and political deliberation.
