EDITORS
Lena Dominelli is Professor of Social and Community Development and Director of the Centre for International Social and Community Development in the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Southampton, England and current President of the International Association of Schools of Social Work. She is an established author with an extensive publication record, including several publications in the Ashgate series in association with CEDR. This has now been relaunched as the Contemporary Social Work Series. Her most recent books are: Feminist Social Work Theory and Practice (2002); and Anti-Oppressive Social Work Theory and Practice (2002).
Wanda Thomas Bernard is Director of the Maritime School of Social Work at Dalhousie University in Canada. She was a founding member of the Nova Scotia Association of Black Social Workers and has worked as a practitioner and undertaken research in anti-oppressive social work. She has both national and international publications, including contributions to various books, one of which was Valuing the Field in the CEDR/Ashgate series.
CONTRIBUTORS
Helena Albertson was a social work student who undertook an international exchange placement on the Child Abuse, Protection and Welfare Project.
Constance Barlow is Placement Coordinator in the School of Social Work at the University of Calgary and has organised overseas placements for students. She has publications based on her experiences in this area.
Phil Beck was a social work student who undertook an international exchange placement on the Child Abuse, Protection and Welfare Project.
Christine Bennett was a social work student who undertook an international placement in India.
Kish Bhatti-Sinclair is Director of the Practice Teaching Programme at the University of Southampton. She has been a community worker and practitioner for a number of years. She has also written a number of published articles.
Cecilia L.W. Chan is Professor of Social Work in the Department of Social Work and Social Administration, Director of the Centre on Behavioural Health and Associate Director of the Centre for Suicide Research and Prevention at the University of Hong Kong. She has published more than a hundred articles and book chapters in her areas of expertise. Cecilia Chan has also been honoured by the community of international social work educators by being invited to give the Eileen Younghusband Lecture at the IASSW Congress in Montpellier, France in July 2002.
