About the Authors
Dr Gabriele Suder is Professor at the University of Melbourne, Australia, and serves as Professorial Fellow at the Melbourne Business School. She is also guest professor at the University of Bayreuth, Germany. She is an experienced external research fellow at JETRO (Japan) and expert at the
European Union and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). She holds a PhD in Management from the University of Bath, UK, and became a full Professor in 2004 at SKEMA Business School, France, with a career spanning principally across Germany, France, Finland, China, the USA and Australia. As a practitioner and senior leader, she also served as International Relations Director at the University of Melbourne, Australias leading university and runs her own entrepreneurial business activity. Her research mainly focuses on internationalization and regionalization, market integration and non-market strategy (corporate
lobbying), with high-level distinction for her work in the field of regionalization, especially on free trade agreements (FTAs) and partnership strategy and its impact on international investment trends, including the Jean Monnet Chair. Gabriele is author of numerous international business and strategy books, including
International Business, a book series on the impact of terrorism on internationalization, the co-edited
Routledge Companion on European Business, and award-winning case studies and scholarly articles. As well as regularly appearing in the news media commenting on European and international business and current affairs, Gabriele also runs her own company, SuderConsulting (www.gabrielesuder.com), covering international trade and investment, and governmental relations.Dr Johan Lindeque is a Senior Research Associate at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland FHNW and affiliated with the University of Amsterdam Business School. He obtained his Bachelor of Business Administration (BSc (Hons)) and PhD degree from the University of Bath School of Management, UK, and has previously held the position of Lecturer in International Business at Queens University Management School, Belfast, UK. He is also a member of the editorial board of the
Journal of World Business. His research focuses on the relationship between international business and government in relation to phenomena such as international trade and the European energy transition. He has been awarded the Van der Schroeff award for his teaching performance by the Faculty of Economics & Business, when he worked as Assistant Professor at the University of Amsterdam Business School. He has published on the topics above and others in the
