The Genealogy of Herman Webster Mudgett: summary, description and annotation

We offer to read an annotation, description, summary or preface (depends on what the author of the book "The Genealogy of Herman Webster Mudgett" wrote himself). If you haven't found the necessary information about the book — write in the comments, we will try to find it.

Herman Webster Mudgett was responsible for the deaths of as many as 200 people. Most of them were murdered during the Worlds Columbian Exposition of 1893, which was held in Chicago. Mudgett confessed to 27 of these killings. So far as I know there has not been a published account of Herman Mudgetts ancestry. The man who became Dr. Henry Horton Holmes came to Chicago from New England. His family migrated from England in the 17th century to Massachusetts, and then to New Hampshire. The book is not of the true crime genre although it has some description of the crimes committed by Mudgett, and his punishment for them. It is interesting to look into the past concerning an individual who became a sociopath. Unlike Charles Manson, who I have published an e-book about, Mudgetts forebears did not have a criminal among his parents. Neither were his brothers and sisters antisocial personalities. Readers will profit from the e-book in a number of ways. Some will be related to persons who have the same surnames as Mudgetts relatives. Others will enjoy the book entirely for the information and photos. Hopefully, the book will inspire many readers to carry out research on their own families.

The Genealogy of

Herman Webster Mudgett

American Serial Killer

Robert Grey Reynolds Jr.

Smashwords Edition 2013

Herman Webster Mudgett(1861-1896), who became the first serial killer in the UnitedStates, was from rural New England. His roots are in Gilmanton, NewHampshire, a town incorporated in 1727 and settled in 1761. Aparish, first known as Averytown, was the location of anunsuccessful mining enterprise. It is still called Gimanton IronWorks. Mudgetts maternal family had the surnames Page and Price. His great-grandparents and grandparents, on his mothers side, cameto Gilmanton from Sandown and Belmont, NH. Still a small town,Gilmantons 2010 population was only 3,777. His paternal ancestorscame to Massachusetts from England. This e-book is not of the truecrime genre. I have concentrated instead on detailing the genealogyof the man who became the fiendish mass murderer, Dr. Henry Howard(H.H.) Holmes. I have used the most common spelling of the surnameMudgett throughout the text of my work. It is sometimes spelledwith a single t on the end in some ancestral records. The title ofthe book is a bit misleading in terms of its scope. The contentalso includes some of the ancestry of the wives, children, and oneof the accomplices of Herman Mudgett.
