Hi! My names Gizmo. Im the Puzzled Puppy. I have a blog which you can check out at puzzledpuppy.com.
Course Im just a puzzled puppy and I wrote the darn thing, but I think you should read this book. You may know a lot of the stuff in here but some might surprise you, too.
In any case, youll find more facts and interesting ideas in this thing than in any ten stump speeches from most of the candidates that have run for President this year. If you wasted your time listening to them, youve got plenty of time to listen to me.
Anyway, this book is small, so you can carry it around with you when you need ammunition to answer your crazy brother-in-law who supports Trump. Carry it around with you like you do your pocket Constitution. You know, the one The Donald hasnt read?
Also, some nails require a few extra hammer blows. And some knuckleheads need an extra knock, knock. So maybe you could donate a few copies to select individuals.
Im not Einstein or anything, but Im pretty smart for a puppy. (And in many ways puppies are smarter than people anyway.) For example, I was speaking the Kings English when I was just a little guy. Actually, Im still just a little guy, even though Im big now!
And I am aware of whats happening in the world. So lets just say Im smarter than a bagel, which puts me ahead of the vast majority of politicians and pundits.
And I have a Boss I respect and can talk to. He takes care of me. Calms me down when the stupid things people do start to drive me crazy. And sometimes I have to calm him down, too.
As a puppy, I simply try to live a quiet, peaceful life, but sometimes its not easy. And when I think about how much more difficult it is for most of the other puppies and people in the world, first I get sad. I talk to the Boss about it and sometimes he makes me feel better. But sometimes he just cant.
Then, quite often, I get angry. And Ive been known to wander beyond angry and get pissed off no end. Then I become a very grumpy dog. Youll see some of that. Dont let my ugly-cute face fool you.
I see war, exploitation, racism, intolerance, and people and puppies just generally getting kicked and I notice that some of us are trying to help and others really dont seem to care. Youve got three groups: the kickers, the kickees, and ones that stay curled up all the time, even if theres a fire in the house.
You may accuse me of raging against things that are evil with words that are too strong. I would ask you to save your ire for the inequity.
Donald Trump is a kicker. Hes not a grumpy dog hes a mad dog. Rabid, Id say. And his supporters? I wish I could say theyre the ones that stay curled up all the time. But theyre not. They help with the kicking.
But Donald Trump has been very successful. Why?
Is there a reason for the success of Donald Trump that I just dont see? That I just dont get? How did he get to where he is? Is it possible that he could become President of the United States? Are you kidding me?
Who are we? Why do we have such a large and powerful dark side? And why is it so easy for Donald Trump to appeal to it?
So Im a really puzzled puppy and I dont have an answer. I just have a question: Am I missing something?
What You Need to Know
Youre probably not an active Donald Trump supporter or you wouldnt be reading this book. Congratulations. Theres a chance that you are a sane, compassionate citizen who believes in peace and justice. Or maybe you just have an I.Q. more than half your shoe size, which is all it actually takes to abhor Trump. I assume the former.
I need to be careful here. Some people are not Trump supporters as much as they are Citizens in Horror of Hillary. Though theres no doubt that Hillary is light years better than The Donald, I understand their concerns.
My suggestion is this: if you cant vote for Hillary, please, just dont vote. Many would disagree, but I believe that this is a political statement in itself please leave it at that. Register your disapproval of Hillary but dont let this madman anywhere near the White House.
Therell be another election in four years, and with Hillary in office therell probably still be a planet with living creatures on it.
For Hillary supporters, vote, and encourage other Hillary supporters to do the same your future and the future of your children, your country, and the world depend upon it.
Its true that Trump speaks to huge numbers of our population who feel that theyre not heard or recognized. And theyre angry, often for very good reasons. But some of the people listen to him because hes saying the same things theyre hearing from their dark sides.
Well Im angry too, and for good reason. Im not rabid, but Im a damned mad dog.
Finally, Donald Trumps mother should have said to him decades ago: Shame on you, Donald. And this is what Im saying now to his supporters: Shame on you.
Because I dont think that our country has ever seen such darkness in a candidate for President.
So how did he get there? Is our dark side that big? I really dont know. After all, Im just a puzzled puppy.

An interesting definition of evil is the ability to do anything possible, regardless of the costs. When America detonated the first test bomb, the inventors knew there was some chance of a chain reaction which would obliterate the planet. But they proceeded. Out of fear, which Rousseau believed to be the basis of all human iniquity.
Let me be clear: What we did in creating these weapons of mass destruction, regardless of the ends, was evil.
And we have already used two of the thousands of them we now possess.
Yes, we probably saved more lives than the two bombs killed. And we won a war that needed to be won.
But to do it we created a tool that, if we and the earth do not die in the meantime, or if we do not find a way to rid ourselves of in the relatively near future, will inevitably destroy us and almost all life on the planet at the touch of a button.
The probability that mankind can possess a weapon it will not use for any significant length of time is so low as to be mathematically impossible. Nothing in the history or character of mankind presents credible evidence to the contrary.
When asked by Chris Matthews and others how he could possibly consider using nuclear weapons in the Middle East and even in Europe, Trump replied several times with the same question: Then why do we make them?
Im sorry, but that answer alone disqualifies him from even a candidacy for President.
Our only hope, the only hope for the world, is diplomacy, peace, and the mass destruction of all weapons of mass destruction.
Every President since we created these abominations has worked to rid the world of them. Hillary has worked hard on this incredibly difficult issue with some success. Donald Trump doesnt seem particularly poised to continue the work.
