L ET ME TELL you what you have to look forward to in the pages ahead. Youll learn the truth about guns and how they save far more lives than they take. Youll see why Americas Founding Fathers never intended that there be a constitutional separation of church and state. Youll find holes in the global warming argument big enough to drive a truck through. This book absolutely blisters China and our dangerously cozy relationship with that brutal regime. It makes a strong case against illegal immigration, illuminating points I havent heard anyone else make. And youre going to love how it sets the record straight on Ronald Reagan and his legacy.
Why is this book so important? Lets face facts. Times have changed so much in the past few years. The world is a much more dangerous place than it used to beand not just in terms of terrorism and crime. Now there are people fighting for the right to influence our children. These insidious groups demand more support from the mainstream and are making a concerted effort to undo what we conservatives teach our kids. As a father, I have a new perspective on what it means to protect the children. And I want to know that my values will not be undermined by someone else who holds undue influence over my children. Its my conservative values that will carry them through until they are old enough to form opinions of their own. But just what are those conservative values?
We on the Right often talk about moral clarity. We know how important it is to distinguish right from wrong. What has been needed is a book with conservative clarity, one that really spells out all that we believe in and why we believe it. The Conservatives Handbook by my good friend Phil Valentine does that and more. This book is so insightful and so well researched that its impossible to read it and not gain a thorough understanding of conservatism, and perhaps even be swayed to its side. Its a book you can give to your coworkers and your kids and those annoying academics and say: Here. Read this and youll know all you need to know about conservatism and why its right. You see, conservatism is based on logic and facts, after all, and this book is full of both. Conservatism also has a sense of humor. The same wit Phils listeners have come to expect on his radio show comes through in this book.
