When people think of revelation, they often mistakenly think only of judgment and the destruction of the world. This book, The Dawn of the New Creation , captures the true essence, the new world, and reality God is preparing for his people. I recommend strongly not just reading but meditating on the themes uncovered in this excellent work. In actuality, we are citizens of heaven/the New Creation, and this will help us realize our wondrous present as well as our glorious future. Our lives will be changed, and we will see everything a lot more clearly as a result. It is exciting to see this extremely positive work on the Apocalypse come to light.
Grant R. Osborne, author of Revelation: Verse by Verse & The Hermeneutical Spiral
In this extremely well written piece, Brayden Brookshier effectively identifies common misunderstandings concerning redemptive history, while directing the reader to a more biblically precise way of discussing the major themes of Revelation. Brookshiers use of both creative illustrations and scholarly analysis makes The Dawn of the New Creation an absolute must-read for anyone seeking greater clarity regarding the eternal hope promised to those in Christ Jesus.
J. D. Eldridge, President, Branch College
Ive been reading and studying Apocalyptic literature all my life. Its been decades since Ive read a book on Revelation that captured my imagination. Brayden Brookshier in his book The Dawn of the New Creation not only challenged my thinking but presented some fresh ideas that pushed me out of my proverbial box and beyond! I loved his take on heavenizing earth.
Frankly, the majority of scholarly works Ive read on Revelation leave me feeling guilty. Guilty for yearning for some version of heaven that feels a little like my home, planet earth. Brayden applied scholarly exegesis to Revelation and the results are exciting. I hope you will take the time to read The Dawn of the New Creation . I promise you wont feel guilty but rather exhilarated about heaven, earth, and a glorious future!

INTRODUCTION
The Most Extraordinary Letter
And the seventh angel blew the trumpet, and there was a loud voice in heaven saying, The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he will reign forever and ever.
Revelation 11:15
Revelation is the most extraordinary book of the Bibleboth literally and literarily! This circular letter is written in a genre completely foreign to the modern world. We simply do not have modern writings quite like apocalyptic prophecy.
Most likely written sometime during the last decade of the first century, Revelation is the final book of the biblical canon and was written by the last living apostleJohn. In studying this book, it is impossible to leave out the discussion of eschatology, which is the study of last, final, or ultimate things. Because Revelation talks about the end of human history as we know it and the beginning of the new world, it is appropriate for Revelation to be the last book of Gods Word.
The Apocalypse
Revelation 1:1 begins with the apocalypse of Jesus Christ. Apocalypse , in the original Greek, literally means revelation. It is an unveiling of something previously not known. What exactly is being revealed? Jesus Christ is, but also what must soon take place (Revelation 1:2) is being declared.
At the time Revelation was written, Jewish expectation anticipated God making all things right and establishing new heavens and a new earth (Isaiah 65:17; 66:22). So, there were answers to the whata new creationand the whythat is, to have eternal life with God and other believers in a redeemed cosmos; however, the how has always been a point of ambiguous contention. [1]
The major plot of Revelation is the unveiled plan of Gods kingdom coming to transform all of creation. It reveals how God is bringing redemptive history to its consummate state of glory because of the victorious work of Christwho has become the King of heaven and earthand will one day bring His kingdom reality to all the cosmos.
