Note from the Publisher

It is a great delight to have the privilege to bring Tadashi Kanzawas teachings to the English-speaking populations of the world.

While there are many images in this book, Tadashi Kanzawas feats are the most awe-striking when seen on video. Much of his encounters have been documented on major western television stations throughout the US and Asia and are now easily viewable through YouTube. I encourage everyone to watch as these videos not only inspire but also serve as real-life demonstrations as to how he performs some of the techniques that he describes in this book.

Mr. Kanzawa is a beacon. His feats radiate a truth that cannot yet be seen with the modern mind. They are well documented, but mysterious: a powerful combination that makes him apparent and carries his revolutionary understanding forward. Behind the entertaining he sparks genuine intrigue and this book is the bridge that carries that intrigue towards understanding.

Introduction

I have a saying: Ki is existence itself. And just as this saying predicts, through Kiryo, many people have healed their illnesses and injuries and restored the health of their natural existences. And that is not all. As I saw these people gain the ability to perceive Ki as they recovered, I deepened my belief that Ki is possessed by all.

The two works that precede this ( Kiryo and Remote Kiryo ) were centered around treatment and implementation; that focus remains in this book as well. Many Kiryo practitioners around the world have put this focus into practice to great effect. Kiryo possesses marvelous healing power, and it may be said that as long as its results remain spectacular, one need not debate about its theoretical basis.

However, as I consider the matter now, even if we attempt to theoretically debate the particulars of Kiryo, there is a near-complete lack of vocabulary and phraseology to describe it. Thus, discussion has been simply limited to a listing of the achievements of Kiryo.

In 1996, I opened the Kiryo Academy. Initially I struggled to instruct my students as I lacked both the theory and terminology to explain Kiryo. One day, the Kiryo recipients and students at the academy began to express their sensations upon receiving Ki as tingling or cool, blowing feelings. Through the various words they used, I realized that these students may be expressing the true nature of Ki itself. I theorized that in their expressions, they were articulating the activity of their sensory nervesthat is, their perceptive and differentiative abilitiesupon being exposed to Kiryo.

I then struggled to name the sensory nerves that perceive and discriminate Ki energy. I decided that Ki energy would be the domain of the Kiryo nerves and the power of perceiving and discrimination would be the function of the Wave Sensory Nerves. The details of these are explained in Chapter 2 of this book, Discovery of the Two Sensory Nerves. These concepts are not recognized in modern medicine and are part of the unique point of view of Kiryo.

Since discovering the two sensory nerves and verbalizing their sensory phenomena, words such as collective energy and peaceful space have been coined, and the education of academy students has become much easier. The numbers of practitioners and students has risen, and the Academy is brimming with vigor.

Now, some ten years later, I have decided to author this book with two motivations in mind.

The first is that Kiryo is not just treatment. Through its mastery exercises, one is able to master the following four things: Ki energy, ability of perception and discrimination, preventative Kiryo (preventing illness before it occurs), and worsening prevention (halting the worsening of illnesses and restoring ones health). All these things are explained in great detail in this book, and I invite you to review them herein.

The second is that in 2002, the Health Promotion Act was promulgated. Given the aging of Japanese society, its low birthrate, and the need to address lifestyle diseases and the like, this law aims to urge each Japanese citizen to manage their own health and strive to promote it.

I think that the mastery of Kiryo and the aim of the Health Promotion Act are one and the same. I hope that at least one person who reads this book will commit themselves to Kiryo mastery (exercise), and thereby recover and promote their health.

Lastly, in compiling this book, I am grateful to have had the encouragement and assistance of Ryoji Takabayashi, a Kiryo practitioner and an editorial department official at my publishing company. I express my sincere gratitude for his help.

Chapter 1: Ki Exchange with Animals
How I Came to Be on TV

It was a cold, gray, and cloudy day in the middle of February 2001. At the invitation of a friend, I went to a zoo and walked around looking at the various animals. Stopping in front of the gorilla enclosure, I felt the sudden urge to transmit Ki. This was because I remembered what I had done on TV. On TBS TVs Bizarre Animals, I put the Apologizing Monkey to sleep, and on Fuji TVs Miracle Experiences! Unbelievable! I made a raccoon relax.

However, we were outside and there were other people watching. Id never done something quite like this, and I thought this might just be impossible. Two of the gorillas playing in the enclosure were rather far from me, so I began to transmit Ki to the gorilla which was a bit closer: the distance was about ten meters.

Four to five minutes passed, and suddenly the gorilla began scratching itself all over its body. The feedback sensation in the palm of the hand I was using to transmit Ki strengthened: I felt like Id begun exchanging Ki with the gorilla. After three to four minutes, the gorilla went and hid behind a large rock in its enclosure. Luckily, from where I was standing, its chest and head were still visible. After about a minute or two, the gorilla yawned several times and fell asleep.

My friend, who had watched this entire process unfold from beginning to end, was quite surprised. I was too. It was undeniable that the gorilla had been put to sleep by the Ki energy that I transmitted to it. It was proof of the power of Ki.

After this, I interacted with various animals; this, however, was the incident that marked the beginning of my efforts to further confirm the existence of Ki.

One day, the friend that had witnessed my interaction with the gorilla at the zoo asked if I would like to appear on an Asahi TV program. I did not know what the content of the program would be, so we planned to meet again.

In early March, four representatives from Asahi TV came to my apartment. They told me the station was trying to start a new program in April called Strange Sudden TV. Is that Real? (Saturday evenings, 7:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.), and they wanted to ask me to participate. The basic concept of the show was that it would showcase strange, miraculous things and occurrences from around the world.
