In Jesus and OCD , Pastor Charles Thompson encourages, challenges, and inspires believers in Christ to face obsessive-compulsive disorder head-on by transparently sharing his own struggles with this illness and the strategies that have helped him fight it.

Charles Thompson, a person who gives everything of himself to serve Jesus by serving others, pours into everything he does an extreme amount of care. Knowing his steadfast Christian character and desire for doing everything very well, he has no doubt put together a valuable resource for Christians struggling with this issue. Several years ago he shared with me a bit about his struggles with OCD. Just speaking with him helped me understand needs and struggles a person with OCD faces. He also helped me understand that although he faces these struggles daily, he has found ways of dealing with this from a specifically Christian perspective. May the reader of this workbook be blessed with the reassurance that they are not alone, indeed many godly people struggle here. And may they know that there is hope!

I thank the Lord for the wisdom that He gave Pastor Charles Thompson to be able to encourage in a powerful way the fight against OCD. He shares from his heart how he struggles with this illness and how the Spirit of God can give power, love, and self-discipline. You can find a way out not only from OCD, but other fears you may have.

This workbook spiritually maps out a way for Christians who struggle with OCD, to find a path of freedom while navigating lifes journey. It speaks honestly and raw about the daily mental struggle and then gives specific application on how to see oneself from Gods perspective. It is a very thoughtful read!

I am so thankful for my friend, Charles. We used to play GI JOE together as boys, and now we are co-laborers for Christ and His kingdom. I count it a joy and privilege to partner with him as he is a man of character and integrity, with a deep love for Christ and His church. Charles is on the front lines of this spiritual battle. He understands the pain, fears, and reality of the battle. In his book, not only will you be encouraged if you struggle with OCD, but you will get practical helps from someone who has been, and is on the journey with you. The Jesus and OCD workbook is practical, authentic, and Biblical. I will keep this in my library as a valuable and rich resource!

I met and became friends with Charles Thompson over fifteen years ago. He has always been a solid pastor who effectively helps others. In Jesus and OCD, he has carefully designed a workbook that will help people struggling with OCD. His workbook couples the encouragement and power of the scripture with effective methods to alleviate what some feel unbearable. Pastor Thompson speaks from his own experience, by willingly sharing his own struggles and victories while offering others the opportunity to overcome OCD step by step. Dont overlook this workbook and the opportunity to experience the path of healing in your life.

CHAPTER 1

Why This Book?

I WISH THAT I could tell you that there are no Christians who suffer with what is known as obsessive compulsive disorder. The fact is that there are many who do struggle with it, and I am one of those who have had to learn how to live with the disorder.

I have called out to the Lord on numerous occasions for obsessive compulsive disorder to be removed from my body. As of the writing of this workbook, I have to recite the words of the Apostle Paul.

Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But he said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christs power may rest on me. That is why, for Christs sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. (2 Corinthians 12:8-10).
