D harma is an ancient Sanskrit term translating to the evolutionary impulse of the universe or your unique purpose in the world. According to the law of dharma, the universe is like a jigsaw puzzle. You are a piece of this puzzle, and there are no spare parts. Each of us was born with talents that play a role in serving the cosmic web of the universe, bringing about global equilibrium. The only thing holding us back from using these talents is fear, the most dangerous human construct. As Rumi once said, I want to sing like birds sing, not worrying who listens or what they think. This is exactly what dharma is about.

In Discover Your Dharma, author Sahara Rose guides readers on how to find their purpose in a world where information is vast, paths are unlimited, and overwhelm is abundant. She speaks into the challenges many readers face and brings them to light with insight, understanding, and humor. Sahara has a unique ability to translate ancient wisdom in a way that is accessible and relatable to her generation while upholding its depth and significance. As you read this book, you will see that it is clear that she is embodying her dharma and masterful at laying the path for readers to step into theirs. This is the third book of hers I have had the pleasure of introducing, and I have enjoyed continuing watching her blossom over the years into the thought leader that she is today.

Discover Your Dharma is a timely book to help readers decondition their minds, remember their essence, and step into the purpose they were born to express. Today more than ever, the world is calling forth citizens to uplift humanity through the path of joy and fulfillment. This book ignites the spark that exists in all of us to share our gifts and be of service. May this book help you remember your limitless potential and live each day in alignment with your dharma.

Introduction
Why the F Am I Here?

T he eternal question may have popped up after a sweaty yoga class when you were pretty sure you left your body, while watching an epic sunset that no Instagram filter could do justice to, or at an awkward holiday party where your uncle is trying to engage in a political debate. It feels like such a big question that moments after asking, we often dismiss the massive void of not knowing the answer.

We busy ourselves by playing ping-pong with the worldresponding to our overflowing inboxes, never-ending to-do lists, social media feeds, and todays stressorall distractions from the biggest eternal question. Why are we even here? This thought lingers over our actions, but very few of us actually entertain it deeply enough to find the answer. Its like getting dropped off at a random party and wondering if they have guacamole or salsa, without even wondering why youre at the party in the first place.

We spend our lives making ourselves busy and filling time, not realizing that weve been given this time for a reason. The very fact that youre at the party means you have something very important to bring, and the party wont be complete without you sharing it. More important, you wont be complete without sharing it.

I know you may be thinking, Sure, I see other people having these profound purposes, but Im not sure it applies to me. Do you think the universe happened to slip up and forget to give only you a purpose? If that were the case, wouldnt you be the most special person of all? You have a purpose. If youre here, there is a reason. This lifetime is about figuring out what it is.

If you dont believe me about having a purpose, Im just going to lay it out to you and tell you your dharma right here on page 2. Your dharma is to raise consciousness. And so is mine. And so is your moms, your besties, your partners. We are all here to elevate the vibration of this planet we call home. However, the way each of us does it is going to be unique. We all bring different elements to the partysome of us bring the dance moves, others the snacks, others the decorations, other the rituals, others the stories, others the magic tricks. Together we create the most epic party called life.

Your dharma is the truest expression of who you are. When youre living in alignment with your dharma, there is no separation between the outer and inner you. Your external reality reflects your internal world. Every aspect of your life is a conscious choice. You are tapped into an endless stream of creativity, passion, and inspiration, which is the cosmos running through you. You have goals and also remain open to the mystery of the journey, trusting that your dharma will take you exactly where you need to be. You allow yourself to unfold into who you are becoming and celebrate each stage of your journey, knowing its preparing you for the next. You feel completely alive, awakened in your senses, with an ignited flame burning in your heart. This is living your dharma.

Most of us live our lives feeling numb. We eat food, but were still hungry. We scroll, but were still searching. We have success, but no satisfaction. We have the information, but no clarity or embodiment. We spend our whole lives looking for something to fill this void where only dharma can reside. Your flavor may be chasing status and spin classes, or bad boys and booze, but both are distractions keeping us from the truth of who we are. This discovery is revealed only when we surrender to the path of dharma.
