Im old enough to remember when the church first started asking, Why should the devil have all the good music? Out of that question grew the contemporary Christian music industry which eventually produced truly skilled musicians, song writers, artists and even psalmists.
But Im afraid the church hasnt really addressed a far more important issue: Why should the devil have all the smart, successful people? Why should he control trillions of dollars in global resources?
He shouldnt.
Its time for the church to stop bemoaning the corrupting influence of money on our culture and take back what the devil stole. Once upon a time, Christians ran the very best hospitals and schoolseven the Ivy League universities. But we walked away from vital industries like health care and education, to the detriment of society. What about manufacturing and technology? Or even finance and media?
Successful influence in any of these arenas takes money, savvy and street smarts.

Start where you Are
Begin at the beginning.
John:
J udy and I have been married for over 25 years, and much of the revelation in this book comes from her deep commitment to understanding Gods ways, along with trying to elevate my understanding.
Through our early years together, I was the doubting Thomas that her revelation bumped up against.
As a business owner I was grounded in the natural, and when something needed to happen, it was through my efforts and my efforts alone. I believed in God, but I put none of His principles to work.
And when it came to giving, I had only one thoughtIf I give something away, thats one less thing for me. In other words, I saw giving as loss.
You can only imagine the conflicts when one is standing in the natural and the other is in the supernatural. But because of a praying wife and a grace-filled God, I began to understand what I was missing.
In the beginning, the principles in this book came slow and hard for me. But one by one, I started seeing results; results I could not explain, because they were God-results.
Today these principles have become second-nature to me.
How can I expect a harvest without planting seed? Now it all seems so simple, so brilliant, and so easy to follow Gods way of success, and I have countless examples of the harvest these principles have produced in my life.
Now there are those of you that will approach these ideas with skepticism, with doubt, and with a fear of lack.
You are me, 20yrs ago. And the good news is, through those years I have been your crash test dummy: Im the guy who argued these things wont work. Im the guy that wasted valuable years doing things my way.
And Im the guy who was dead wrong.
Open your heart to the possibilities God has for you. Thats my prayer.

When I was 32, five years before I began following Jesus...it was as if I fell from the sky and landed in East Lansing, Michigan. This was after being homeless for three months. I was broken and broke, all alone in a new town, with no money, no job, and no education--and three young children (6, 8, and 9 years old). I got every student loan and grant available, enrolled at MSU and secured a 700-square foot apartment.
