It has been my privilege to serve at Rick Renners side since 1991. First, I came to know Rick as one of his Bible school students. After graduation, I became Ricks interpreter. Then I became his coworker in developing and establishing the Media Mir Television Network. Today I serve as Ricks associate in Rick Renner Ministries, in the Good News Church, and in the Good News Association of Pastors and Churches.

Through all these years of working with Rick, he has become not only my boss but also my dearest friend. He is the most influential leader in my life, helping to bring me to a higher level of excellence in my life and ministry. As I fulfill the call on my life to work with local churches all over the former Soviet Union, I find myself constantly assisting pastors who have serious problems with their leaders or staff members. When I ask how these problematic leaders were first chosen for leadership, I find they were frequently chosen too fast and without proper testing to see what kind of leaders they would be and how they would perform in different situations.

The church is growing so rapidly in this region of the world that there is a great shortage of leaders. In fact, pastors have been so desperate for leaders to help them in their growing churches that theyve unintentionally ignored Pauls command in First Timothy 5:22 to lay hands suddenly on no man.

As a result, pastors are sometimes caught in a conflict with leaders who never should have been placed in a leadership position. These pastors start back-peddling, trying to figure out how to get certain people
