Emily A. Francis
Praise for Healing Ourselves Whole
Emily Franciss book says it all. I had to learn as a surgeon about the power of the mind and how the body believes what the mind conceives. The truth is that we heal ourselves. When people have an unexpected recovery, doctors call it a spontaneous remission, but as Emily reveals it is not spontaneous but self-induced. We all have the potential to achieve that with correct coaching and our showing up for practice. Read this excellent healing manual and begin the process of becoming whole and complete.

Emily holds your hand like a trusted friend throughout the process, encouraging you to journal, meditate, and go deep into yourself to release the emotional chains once and for all and to achieve healing on its deepest level.

This book will take you beyond the symptoms into the root cause of physical and emotional imbalances. It is a perfect blend of Eastern and Western ideas spun into tangible steps so that readers can feel held, supported, and empowered by the process. This book is ideal for professionals and individuals looking to tap into the wisdom of their own bodies. It serves as an incredible resource for healing and feeling whole again.
Sherianna Boyle, author of Emotional Detox for Anxiety
Much like the jocular sage of Tibetan Buddhism, Emily disguises profound wisdom in a light-hearted tour of her own experiences as a bodyworker and healer. Yet, this is a book for the ages and, perhaps, for the sages too. In it are all the tools of the greatest healers: the wisdom of cause and effect, the magic of therapeutic metaphor, the curative intent of the most powerful shaman. Emily brings to conscious expression the causes and the cure and carries us along with her. Hers is an exquisitely sensitive prescription for a process of helping and healing that eventuates in a whole, happy and self-determined human being.

Overview
What Qualifies Me to Write This Book?
Im not a doctor or a counselor. Im not a psychologist or a psychotherapist. I am a bodyworker. When I use the term body work in my personal practice, I define it as an all-encompassing clinical approach to helping the body remember how to heal from within through hands-on applications such as massage therapy, neuromuscular therapy, and lymphatic drainage as well as energy practice.
Very few vocations in the world allow people to place their hands directly on someone to help heal, recover, release, and balance them. Body work to me is a sacred practice in which people entrust themselves to me during the time we have scheduled together. To receive body work, people must allow themselves to be quite vulnerable because, during a massage, they are basically undressed and draped accordingly. I, in turn, have the responsibility to create a safe space, enforce proper boundaries, and have a loving touch with no intention other than helping people to release and balance themselves. I do not take any sort of responsibility for someone elses healing; it is their own, and I honor that and support them through whatever they are facing. People do not come to me for a simple massage to relax. That is not what I do. I am both clinical and energetic in nature, and my approach comes with a specialized set of skills for people who are facing the aftermath of various traumas, most notably during or following cancer treatment.
I have developed a unique perspective on how our bodies store and release effects of traumas, pains, and shames. The body speaks to me, and I have learned how to understand its language. I cant fully explain it, but something happens when I put my hands on other people. Information is downloaded into me. I can almost hear and feel what their bodies are telling me.
The body is full of so much magic and wisdom, yet we have spent decades ignoring it in pursuit of other avenues by which to recover and heal. This book offers the truths that I have come to understand through my years of hands-on work and intuitive gifts. The other part of my knowledge of healing has come from a messy, sometimes debilitating amount of personal work to help myself heal from severe anxiety and panic. For a long time, I struggled to regain control over my health and happiness. When I say struggled, I mean I went all the way down with it. This was not a little blip in the story of my life. And just a few years later, I had to use what I learned about the various aspects of body healing and apply it to my child, who has functioning recovery, and the removal of her diagnosis of an autism spectrum disorder. People hear our story and think its not possible, but I say to myself, to my children, and to you: No one has any right to tell you what can and cannot be done in the name of healing. All things are possible, and miracles do happen. Its a matter of gathering information from far and wide, committing ourselves to a life well healed, and keeping a strong faith that the only limits are the ones we accept.
