Intro
INTRODUCTION
The air we breathe, just like the water we drink, is not new. It has passed through countless bodies over millions of years. Since the beginning of life, our planet has been recycling its resources with the support of an ecosystem. However, many of our innovations have destroyed this ecosystem and altered the natural qualities of the water, the air, and the earth we live on. In what we often call the development phase of humankind, humans are creating a breeding ground for harmful microorganisms to grow and spread in the world. Our modern lifestyle is a red carpet inviting these pathogens to invade our organs and generate diseases in our systems.
There are two kinds of diseases that challenge the natural health of a human: infectious and noninfectious. Millions of people have lost their lives in the battle against various infections during several pandemics, and many millions die every year from noninfectious diseases such as cardiovascular disease and cancer or are struggling with severe illness. While plague and cholera were considered the deadliest infectious diseases in past centuries, during the last hundred years the modern world has faced other pandemics, including the Spanish flu, smallpox, tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, swine flu, and COVID-19.
Although scientists and doctors in our modern medical world are constantly working to keep diseases under control, our current system focuses on treating symptoms and finding quick solutions to switch off the signals from our systems, so the core problems still exist at the base level, popping up to the surface every now and then as different illnesses. If we dont listen to the signals from our body and continue to live our lives going against the laws of nature, polluting the atmosphere and altering the ecosystem of our Mother Earth, then one day, like a boomerang, the results of our actions will return to us with even more vigor.
Before we face an even more dire health situation in our world, let us wake up and work on both of our sides: our inner and our outer nature. While our inner nature is everything inside our skin, including the organs that make up the systems of our body, our outer nature is the body of the earth that contains air, water, and all the living and nonliving things on it, including the microorganisms of the ecosystem that we may not even be able to see with our bare eyes.
Considering the fact that our inner body cant function without the support of our outer body, we need to preserve both sidesthe nature inside and the nature outside our skinwith equal consideration. For instance, when we cut down a tree, we need to realize that we are mutilating one of our external organs, the lungs of our planet, which convert carbon dioxide into oxygen and are essential to the function of our respiratory system and our life on planet Earth.
