Introduction
You may be curious about the title. Lets take the first part of the main title: Peace, Love, Happiness, and Joy first. Why did I use these specific words in this particular order?
Because peace is required before love and happiness can grow fully. Peace here refers to both internal and external peace. Of course, war interferes with peacewar is hell.
Love treats each individual with his or her best interests at heart. And peace and love together are the best chance for happiness in this world of ours. We need to love ourselves first to have love to share with others. Happiness can be a choice. Joy? Increased happiness!
I take little credit for the above or anything in this book. For example, it had already been written thousands of years ago in the Old Testament of the Bible to obey the Law, the Ten Commandments. Obeying those laws helps maintain peace. And therein in the New Testament Jesus specifies his two highest laws: to love Godand neighbor as self. It seems to me that this peace and love - together - brings about happiness. And so, since being peaceful and loving is a choice, being happy is a choice also. This love is what we now call unconditional love. What if you dont believe in God (atheistic) or havent decided whether to believe or not (agnostic)? No problem; many say that God is love.
Ive attempted to write this book in terms of each person as an individual and in terms of all people in the world entirely, and as you will see if you keep reading, for the universe!
An unknown Russian philosopher wrote, The power of ideas is greater than the use of force. And my vision is for all of the ideas that are in this book to come down to personal choice and at the election polls in the USA and hopefully someday everywhere. For individual peace, love, happiness, and joy and eventually for the entire USA, the rest of the world; everything and everyone in Gods universe.
Now come the details.
This Is a Handbook for Living
Lets look at the beginning of this book like a roadmap.
First, We Locate our Starting Point
Here in this country and elsewhere are weapons of mass destruction and threats of their use: nuclear holocaust, biological and chemical weapons, gun violence, and so much more. Didnt Rodney King say, Why cant we just get along? If Jesus Christ could say, Forgive them Lord for they no not what they do after all that was done to him, why cant we at the very least do the same and resolve what is often our profoundly petty differences in comparison?
There is war right now: look at Syria for just one example. Terrorism; starvation; lack of water, shelter, and medicine; sex slavery; and crime. Theres corruption in business and government. There are almost infinite numbers of types of violence and torture; political imprisonment, and death. Neglect; abuse; rape; incest; and discrimination based on sex, age, race, national origin, sexual preference; and more. And there are environmental issues, including pollution and purported global warming. Many countries are near or at default, and the United States and other countries have serious financial problems and areas of overpopulation within them. ISIS and Al-Qaeda make war in the name of forcing their religion on others (exactly as we have done to the American Indian and before that the Crusades in the name of the Doctrine of Discoverydiscover land and conquer the inhabitants who have a lesser God and it is yours). And there is then that genocide.
The End Point or Goal
Imagine a near-utopian world: everyone has freedom of choice, except to break the lawin which case, there are consequences if only in the conscience. The goal is world and inner peace, love, happiness, and joy for everyone, and of course, a much a higher standard of living for us all.
No one can make it happen by themselves. But we can all think globally, act locally, and try to act like a team. We wont know if we can do it unless we try. The rewards are beyond anyones ken, as I would guess.
Lets start with world peace. If theres a nuclear holocaust, the only love will be from God. No life will be on Earth for millennia, at least above ground or not in outer space. Lets think about it before we seek to destroy and act in anger. In the Bible it says to choose life over death (Deuteronomy 30:19). I think God sets before us good and evil, and I suggest that we all choose to do good for goodness sake.
We all have freedom of choice. My late father used to say, You can do anything in this life if you can accept the consequences.
Some people say that the next world war will be over food because the world population is growing faster than the food supply. And we are surrounded if third world war breaks out.
What Route Do We Take?
Choose peace first of all and unite in doing so. Two heads are better than one, they say. Act as a team. Those who agree with this book may possibly make their best vote ever: elect a presidential candidate of the United States who runs on a platform of seeking to form a united world government led by a world leader whose objective is world peace, and who demonstrates exactly how to solve every problem caused by mankindin writing, so they cant go back on their promises and lie about it.
Of course, this person wouldnt be God. But some people may perhaps in some cases believe that he or she or it is the resurrection, or the second coming of Jesus Christ, or at least an entity that deserves some amount of respect. Thank God we have religious freedom in this country (theoretically), freedom of the press (theoretically), and equal rights (on paper).
