    Guide

To the most important people in my life:

Yeshua, my Messiah, who pursued me and

transformed me by His love and grace

My eishet hayil / woman of valor, Miriam, the one in

whom my heart delights. You have been such an incredible

source of encouragement, love, and support. I am eternally

thankful for you and will love you till my last breath!

And my whole family, Mom, Dad, Avi, Judah, Aunt

Carol, and Aunt Wendy, Mama, and Pop whom I miss

greatly. You have been the wind that has caused me to

rise above every situation and circumstance. I love you

all so much and cant imagine life without you!

I met Rabbi Jason Sobel in 2016 in New York during the frantic, hectic Christmas season. Hoda and I were exhausted from our schedule at the Today show, taping two, sometimes three shows a day so we finally would be able to take a two-week holiday. All I wanted to do was finish and hightail it down to the Florida Keys with my family and forget about everything that Rockefeller Center had come to represent to me at that time of year: chaos.

For six weeks every year, it became almost impossible to navigate the busy Manhattan streets. The crowds of tourists were festive and frenzied, yet to me it felt as though the season had nothing to do with the true meaning of Christmasthe celebration of the birth of Christ, the Messiah. Every year I felt a profound sadness that the message of Gods love was seemingly nowhere to be found.

Then I met Rabbi Jason. That singular day changed my whole perspective and ultimately changed my life and the way I understood the Scriptures. In the course of a three-hour lunch at my favorite restaurant, Nearys Pub, I sat across from this stranger, basically, who literally and very patiently explained to me what actually happened in the Bible story more than two thousand years ago. What the Rabbi taught me lit a fire in my soul to study the word of God in its original source, the Hebrew and Greek languages. One year later Rabbi Jason and I wrote The Rock, The Road, and the Rabbi, which became a surprise bestselling book that is currently in its nineteenth printing.

There is a deep, innate, and, I believe, profound yearning in every human soul to know God intimatelynot just to visit Him once a week or on Christmas Eve and Easter morning. How are we supposed to live every other nanosecond of our existence? What does God have to say about that? This is the eternal God of the Bible that Jason will introduce you to, perhaps for the first time.
