F rom the beginning of time, God had a good plan for our lives, God had given Adam and Eve dominion over everything in the Garden. But when they disobeyed God, they lost their authority, and suddenly Satan had the upper hand.
We must never forget that Satan is a thief and a liar. Right from the beginning he has sought to divert the good things that are ours, and he will continue to do that if we allow him to. He will stay on our property if we dont run him off.
I thought for years that resisting the devil only meant I should take some sort of determined stand against him, that if I stood and rebuked him long enough and loud enough, he would eventually have to leave me alone. However, I discovered that this was not reality. So I sought God for the answer to my lack of victory in this area, and He showed me how to fight the enemy in a new way. I will be sharing what I learned with you in this book.
We can have dominion over the works of the devil.
Gods Son Jesus came to earth and delivered us from the power and authority of the enemy. Christ is the Head of the church, and we are His body. We need to arise and take our rightful place in Him.
Jesus is seated in the heavenlies, and according to Ephesians 2:6, we are seated with Him by virtue of our faith in Him. Where He is, we areand this is where the Bible says that He is:
Far above all rule and authority and power
and dominion and every name that is
named [above every title that can be
conferred], not only in this age and in this
world, but also in the age and the world
which are to come.
And He has put all things under His feet
and has appointed Him the universal and
supreme Head of the church [a headship
exercised throughout the church].
EPHESIANS 1:21,22
Jesus is Lord over all, and He has put all things under His feet. Since we are in Him, that means that the only place Satan has in our life is under our feet. Therefore, the devil has no real power or authority over us except what we give him and what he gets from us through deception.
One of his major goals is to deceive us. Remember, he is a liar. He hopes we will believe his lies because if we do, then we will be deceived. Every time he deceives us, we give him the right to use his power against us.
The truth is that Satan may attack us, but he does not have to defeat us.
I have written this book so that if you have been deceived by Satans lies in the past, you will now have knowledge of your God-given authority to walk all over himand youll be able to exercise that authority.
Exercise Your Authority
You may think that because you are a believer, you can reach a place where the devil wont bother you anymore, but I believe that he regularly launches different attacks against us. The good news is that we are stronger than him because we have the Greater One living inside of us.
First John 4:4 says that greater is He Who is in us than he who is in the world. We are taught in Romans 8:11 that the same Spirit Who raised Christ from the dead dwells in us. As believers, we have everything we need to lead a victorious life if we will not allow the enemy to rule us.
Now when I say that we are not to allow the enemy to rule us, it does not mean that we will never have a problem. But it does mean that even in the mist of our problems we can still be joyful.
Let me ask you a question. Which is greater: to have joy because we have no problems or to have joy in the midst of our problems? Unbelievers can have joy if they have no problems, but it takes the power of the Holy Spirit to keep our joy in the midst of a problem, even a big problem.
No matter what is going on in your life on the outside, if you have joy on the inside, you can still enjoy your life.
It is easy to be joyful when you understand that Satan has no right to do anything to you unjustly.
This book contains important information that the devil hopes you will never find out because you are going to gain new knowledge to help you fight him and win.
Part 1 discusses things that are important for us to do to obtain the good things God has for us and stop the devil from diverting them away from us. Part 2 covers eight ways to resist and defeat the devil and keep him under our feet. Satan cannot defeat an obedient believer who has a solid understanding of how to stand against his attacks.
You may be facing some kind of attack from the enemy right now. I pray that this message will help you to start getting on the attack instead of being under the attack because that is the key to keeping the devil off your back and where he belongsunder your feet.
ITS ALL ABOUT
DOING
Behold, I have the land before you; go in
and take possession of the land which the
Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to
Isaac, and to Jacob, to give to them and to
their descendants after them.
DEUTERONOMY 1:8
W hen God brought the Israelites out of Egypt after 430 years of Egyptian bondage,
Because of what Jesus has done for us on the cross, you and I can possess the land God has given to us. We can have what He speaks of in His Word. We can live in the reality of His promises to us.
We dont have to just dream about the promises of God, talk about them and watch everybody else have them; we can actually live in righteousness, peace and joy, prosperity, healing, social and spiritual success and enjoyment of life. We can hear from God and receive the revelation knowledge He gives. We can receive godly wisdom about what we should do and the decisions we should make.
God has lots of good things stored up for His peoplebut in order to receive them, we must do something. In order to live in the good land He has set aside for us, we must be willing to go in and take possession of it.
