Children of a Living Universe: Discovering Our Legacy Will Change Our Future: summary, description and annotation

Children of a Living Universe is a call to action unlike any other you may have encountered. According to cultural historian and cosmologist Paul Von Ward, the time has come for human beings to reassess just about everything we believe about our ancestry and global past. Drawing upon forgotten prehistory, clues from the worlds esoteric traditions, and new research in consciousness, Von Ward asserts we are more powerful beings than either science or religion has led us to believe. He exhorts us to embrace a bold, new model of human existence, one that explains our celestial origins, multidimensional capacities, and destiny as conscious co-creators of a self-learning and self-correcting universe.
With insight and clarity, Von Ward envisions that the discovery of our true legacy will inspire a global renaissance of inner knowing and unprecedented social progress. He sees humanity assuming its place as part of a universal community of conscious beings, and fulfilling our potential to serve as galactic leaders. Children of a Living Universe is a brilliant guide to this new and essential process in human spiritual evolution.

Acknowledgments

This book, like all others, is not the creation of one mind. It is the product of several species and the conscious universe of which we all are aspects. Thus, I cannot claim all the credit, nor can I give credit to all who have made contributions. It evolved over many years of my personal seeking of answers to the questions with which all we humans are faced when we become aware of our apparent mortality. But the energy and thoughts necessary to bring such disparate pieces of knowledge together manifested from a self-sustaining life force and its collective consciousness.

Most of the details in this book came from the research and analyses of many researchers and colleagues on whose shoulders I stand. Some of their works are referenced in the notes and the suggested reading list. I have only added my unique perspective on how all the pieces fit together, drawing new inferences from their material. Thus, I must take responsibility for the decisions on what to include in the final version of a truly community effort.

All of the chapters in the three core parts of this book were originally published in my book titled Our Solarian Legacy: Multidimensional Humans in a Self-Learning Universe. All those who participated in the preparation of that volume have my eternal gratitude. If you have already read it, you will find nothing new in this one other than an updated perspective in the Preface and Introduction. They demonstrate further evidence corroborating the concepts expressed in the earlier book and confirming many of its insights and predictions.

The fact that the material in the earlier version has stood the test of time demonstrates the staying power of so-called esoteric wisdom which endures and still subtly guides modern science. The synthesis of ancient principles with modern technology has made it possible to test the theses in the earlier version. It has also opened doors to further development of the unique concepts in Our Solarian Legacy developed and published as the 21st Century dawned. It has stimulated parallel explorations by other authors of articles and books over the last decade.

While it is impossible to satisfactorily attribute credit to all the individuals who made significant and direct contributions to this book, I would like to name a few of those early supporters who made the concept into a palpable reality: Tonette Long, Judith Cope, Nancy Parker, Rosemary McMullen, Celeste White, Michael Brein, Brian O'Leary, Elliott Dacher, Rosemary Whitford, Jim Schuette, Kelesyn Winter, and Joyce Shafer.

Finally, I wish to thank Greg Brandenburgh for believing in the merit of the work and making this new edition available to a broader audience with its new Preface and Introduction. This excellent publication is due to their commitment and the professional work of the dedicated staff at Hampton Roads Publishing and Red Wheel/Weiser.

Preface

I assume because you chose this book that you are an intellectually inquisitive reader, seeking gaps in your understanding and new knowledge to fill them. If I am correct, you will re-examine your cherished assumptions about the history of the Earth and its human inhabitants. Are you ready to look at research developed by independent scholars and personally test their insights with your own experience? If you are, I promise you a dramatically reshaped perspective on the human legacy and a change in your approach to daily life by the time you complete this book.

As humanity now faces the most profound challenges in our history, we are also simultaneously equipped with the internal resources to meet them. By expanding our view of this universe, we also enhance our grasp of the inner resources available to us. Though telescopes cannot yet see beyond the curve of space-time, we can open our inner eyes to the spectrum of a multidimensional reality.

The text that follows is not intended to cover all the evidence for our Solarian Legacy. (You'll learn the full meaning of that term in the following chapters.) Over 150 books and articles are referenced here and more recent ones on the Internet underpin this new view of the cosmos. I describe a provisional, but realistic picture of the human legacy by synthesizing the ideas of countless others who are willingly to test alternative perceptions of reality. I also evaluate solid material dismissed as unscientific by institutional gate-keepers or ignored because of its source.

Included are studies on improperly labeled paranormal phenomena, reports of intelligent nonhuman beings, tangible evidence of forgotten advanced civilizations, compelling findings of frontier science, and wisdom germinated in some cosmic seedbed that springs from deep intuition.

Though the material and its implications may be disturbing to you at first, I believe they will offer you a broader consciousness and a more stable subconsciousness. The result is a healthy and balanced skepticism that allows one to move beyond the current period of self-imposed blinders.

Although I am passionate about the ideas set forth here, my fervor should be tempered by your own experience. As this book reflects my ongoing testing, I invite you to put its assumptions to critical review. I suggest you will find them credible only if the following conditions are met:

  1. The integration of my ideas makes rational sense to you.
  2. The interpretations resonate with the your own observations.
  3. Your own experiences can validate the related hypotheses

You will incorporate these ideas in your worldview for your own reasons. Do not consider them to be divine edicts or engraved-in-stoneno where in the vault of human knowledge is there any absolute fact or truth other than that we do not yet know them. Every human discovery to date has been overturned by a new one. I hope you find it valuable to engage in this ongoing exploration of the unknown in order to revise the past in the process of reshaping your present.

A Time of Reckoning

Much ado was made of the arrival of the 21st Century, but does it have any inherent significance?
