great things He has d one,
and continues to do! In early 2013, I wrote several poems as I worked through some recent life experiences. A few months later, it occurred to me that my poems from over the years would make an interesting book. Writing the commentary for the poems helped me clarify matters even further. Gods good intentions for us became abundantly clear during this process, hence the books name His Good Pu rpose . I want to thank my husband and son for their unfailing support.
It is tough on a family when Mom is not available to do the things she normally does. I also want to say Thank You to the WestBow Press team that helped me navigate the publishing process for the first time. I would remain completely lost and unpublished withou t you! September 2013
Kit Smith His Good Purpose is a Biblically based look at life, creatively expressed in poem. May you see and understand the salvation offered to you by God Himself. May God refresh you and awaken you to new insights through these pages. His Good Purpose is divided into two sect ions.
Section 1 contains poems only. You may read through the poems without distraction, having your own thoughts and considerat ions. In Section 2, each poem has commentary with it, using Scripture to help illuminate Biblical concepts behind the poem. Each section has three cha pters. Chapter 1 contains poems that generally address the basic foundation of our faith: we are sinners in need of salvation, Christs atonement on the cross, the redemption offered by God through Christ and our forward looking hope in C hrist. Chapter 2 contains poems addressing the struggles of life as we live them.
Chapter 3 focuses on adoration and pr aise. An Afterword concludes the book. A chiasm is a literary structure used throughout the Scriptures. Some of my poems use chiastic elements, showing repeated or parallel themes. Other poems utilize chiastic concepts in an artistic play with poetry, producing a poem with physical appeal to th e eye. For a definition and discussion of chiasm, please see the following links: http://www.bible-discernments.com/joshua/whatisachiasm.html .

Poem s Only M ay Y ou P e rceive O f E minent M aj estys S al vation To create by My words, To sculpt without hands, To clothe without cloth, My intention s tands.
Speak truth, grace and life, Shining forth as a light, Receive faith, hope and love, Piercing the night. Sculpt them I will, Who look to Me, My Presence is peace, My Son is He, Who died for you r sin, Were no longer apart, Come into My arms, And know My heart. Clothed in righteous acts, The Bride, bright and clean, In fine linen ar rayed, Was meant to be seen. On full di splay, Before all of her foes, Shes choosing Hi s way, How His glory shows. Come now, My Bride, You are worthy to be, In My heavenly realm, Dwelling wit h Me. H eaven I s S i nging, C hrist R ules O ver S at an and S in! God asks, Who cries from w ithin, Im like this, see, I m bad, I demand that you ha te me, What choice do you have? Thats not what My blood says, Youre redeemed, youre free, For My blood was pour ed out upon Ca lvary.
No more curse fo r you, But blessings and life, For I AM the resur rected Lord Jesus C hrist. The punishments paid, Theres no condemnatio n now, Come walk in your fr eedom, Ill show yo u how. And from thi s task I will never r efrain Until all of My fu llness You have obt ained. The dragon sleeps Atop his trea sures, Within the mou ntain, Within the halls, Within the ruins Of faded glory. Who shall recla im it? I, e ven I, Have conquered the d ragon. Now you shall r eturn, You are My tre asure, Take your mou ntain, Repair the halls, Redeem the ruins For a glorious habit ation.
For I, e ven I, Shall dwell wit h you. L iving I n F ull E xpec tation The bully roams our uni verse, Unseen by huma n eye, Our ears familiar with his sound, That angry, vengefu l cry. Human voices moved by pain, Well up from brutal force, Bludgeoning in likeness made, And changing Good! to dross. Bullys wounds blind the mind, As anger holds to pride, Everything will be just fine, Beguiling bully lied. Chosen angers bud swells full, Corrupting forth as hate, The bullys prey ensnared s ecure, Now dwells in severed state. Theres nothing mammon canno t fix, Except a calloused heart, Repentance is the bulwar k that Quenches the bullys darts.
