All our lives, weve been looking for how we can be happy and successful at work and in life, when all along the answer is just there in the attitudes that we use in our daily lives.
This explains why there are people who seemed to be already up there in heaven, but because their attitudes are yet so wrong, you will see them still ever complaining.
On the other hand, there are people who seemed to be already down there in the dump, but because their attitudes are yet so right, you will see them still ever smiling as if everything is alright.
To be happy and successful at work and in life, what we need are RIGHT ATTITUDES, not a perfect environment that can only come with the perfection of the heart and mind.
Be one of the ATTITUDINALISTS!
The happiest and most successful employees in the world!
The
Two Basic Questions
in Life
FIRST BASIC QUESTION:
Are you Happy?
I s happiness to you MONEY ? That if only people have all the money in the world, they are happy?
But if it is money , Im just wondering why are there people who seemed to be already having almost everything in life, and still are not happy? In the same breath, why are there people who seemed to be having almost nothing in life, and yet are happy?
Or is happiness to you CONTENTMENT ? That if only man can learn to be contented with what he has or what comes his way, he will be happy.
But can there really be contentment in this world? Does not the price of the gas continually rise? And so do the rent, the tuition, the fare, the food, the electricity, and the clothes? Is there anything in this world whose price or value does not increase with the times?
Will not your contentment today
be your very own woes tomorrow?
For me, I define HAPPINESS as:
Seeing what you want to see
For instance, YOU WANT TO SEE a government that is honest and caring, and indeed it is honest and caring so you are happy . For if it is not, you will be unhappy.
YOU WANT TO SEE that ruthless criminal go to jail, and indeed he did go to jail so you are happy . For if he did not, you will be unhappy.
YOU WANT TO SEE your children really do get serious with their studies, and indeed they do so you are happy . For if they do not, you will be unhappy.
YOU WANT TO SEE your wife appreciating all the sacrificial efforts you are putting in to raise a most secure and happy family, and indeed she does so you are happy . For if she does not, you will be unhappy.
Now since we may not all be the same in what we want to see in life, it follows that we also differ in the kind of happiness we want to experience in life.
Thus
What is happiness to me
can be unhappiness to you;
just as what is happiness to you
can be unhappiness to me.
Using this definition of mine on happiness, Are you HAPPY? Are you seeing what you want to seeboth in your professional and personal life?
SECOND BASIC QUESTION:
Are you Successful?
I s success to you BEING RICH ? That if people are rich, they are successful? And, inversely, if people are poor, they are a failure?
But if it is being rich , how come there are people who are already rich and still they say they are not yet successful. By the same token, how come there are those who are poor, and yet they believe they are already successful.
For me, I define SUCCESS as:
Getting what you want to get
For instance, I need to drink because I am thirsty, and indeed I was able to drinktherefore I am successful in that particular need of mine.
I want to travel to Japan, and indeed I was able to travel to Japantherefore I am successful in that particular want of mine.
By my definition, one need not be rich to be successful. The poor can be as successful as the rich, just as the rich can be as a failure as the poor, all depending on the nature and level of what people need or want to get in life.
Hence, as we may not all be the same in the nature and level of our needs and wants, it follows that we, too, are not the same in the kind of success we want to achieve in life.
Thus
What is success to me
can be failure to you,
just as what is success to you
can be failure to me.
In using this definition of mine on success, Are you SUCCESSFUL? Are you getting what you want from your career and your personal life?
If your answer to the TWO BASIC QUESTIONS IN LIFE is in the negative, this book is for you!
