Dedication
This book is dedicated to Rev. Dr. Mark T. Oliver of Trinity Baptist Church of Brockton, Massachusett, of whom I was discipled into pastoral ministry . And Rev. Mike Rivera and Rev. Baron Rodrigues who charged me before Christs holy angels into the pastoral ministry.
So Jesse sent for him. He was dark and handsome, with beautiful eyes. And the Lord said, This is the one; anoint him. So as David stood there among his brothers, Samuel took the flask of olive oil he had brought and anointed David with the oil. And the Spirit of the Lord came powerfully upon David from that day on. Then Samuel returned to Ramah (1 Samuel 16:12-13).

Prologue
Have you ever sought the courage to face lifes trials? Have you ever felt like you were too far away from God because the distress of life was hindering your blessings? Journey with me to hear the echoes of the timber wolf and hear the voice that encouraged David to be a mighty warrior, and King. Learn how the anointing of Samuel gave David the staying power he needed, how King Sauls relentless pursuit of him made him who he became: the legendary King of Israel. The scene is old Palestine. Among the poor of the people, a nation with grand history, and the creator of the world as their God. The issue at hand is the desire and need for a King. And the answer is Gods selection of David as King.
Preface
The Echoes of the Timber Wolf came into being when I was homeless, and God used the appearance of a wolf to encourage me and bring me to new heights of spirituality. I wrote this book because Ive always been fascinated with David. Since Ive read so much about him over the years, I decided I would write some of my own thoughts of him, seeing that he is such an important person, in history and in the biblical text. My hope is that you would enjoy learning about such a legendary man and servant of God.
Foreword
I have known Jean Belizaire for 17 years. We have served in church ministry together. From the time I met him, it was clear that Jeans main desire was to help others learn about the forgiveness of God in Jesus Christ, as well as the deep truths of Gods desire for each person. This study in the life of King David is only an extension of that desire. The author reminds us that David was made strong through his troubles.
We all have troubles that must be navigated from which we must learn about God and ourselves. This is why David is so fascinating to many of us. We each can identify with his failures as well as his struggles, and Jean is no exception. Many of his insights in this book come from his own struggles.
As Jean learns from his study of life with the life and heart of David as a guide , he now turns and shares it with us. In the end, David grows through his weakness. And in prayer, finds courage to put God first. He finds his way to be more concerned about the fame of God.May we all, through our own failures and troubles, find our way to that same heart.

Introduction
King Davids story is a story that legends are made of, from his journey as a poor shepherds boy tending the sheep in the blazing heat of Palestine land and to his defeat of a Nephilim hybrid of a man that stood nine feet and nine inches tall named Goliath of Gath, to gaining the confidence of his people being a representative of the poor and disinherited,to being hounded in a massive manhunt by a jealous and delusional king.
To the treachery of adultery and a murder to cover up his sins, to being a man after Gods own heart, and to a curse that would never leave his home. David is the most complex and incongruous man in the pages of the Bible yet: still beloved of God. Come and journey with me into the life of King David where we shall discover why his soul was loved by God, and we shall hear the echoes of the timber wolf in his story.
Chapter 1
Gods Echo Cardiogram
The echo cardiogram is a test that does an ultra-sound test of the Heart. It hears the sound and it seeks to see if there is any existing problem or underlying heart condition. It surfaces the heart beat to discover its strength or its weakness, and in the story of David we discover that his heart is at the center of discussion when being anointed and selected as king of Israel.
....
In comparison to David, Israels first king was disobedient, prideful, and reckless. It seems as if God, from the beginning of his reign, was not disposed that he should be a king because the idea of a monarch was of the people and not of God. Prophecies went forward warning the people of what their elected monarch would do.
Sauls heart was weak from the onset hiding amongst the stuff he was tall and handsome but not of the courage of David.
Saul disqualified himself because his heart was not right for the position. Pride was the underlying heart condition of his internal self. And his disobedience would prove to be the end of his position and reign. He would later lose control of himself and become a madman bent on revenge of a young man who would have the praises of the people.
David on the other hand was in the clay hills of Palestine, doing menial work, watching the herds of sheep and goats. But David is found by God, he is called a king before ever being crowned one, a warrior before ever having a fight, judicious and wise before ever having a critical decision to make, handsome featured before having the love of women, and gifted before ever recording a Psalm...
Gods echo cardiogram tests the heart, for the heart is the center of ones being, especially in matters of prominence. One doesnt get promoted until his heart can be seen by God and the people he will serve as strong enough for the job and intentioned about being like God in matters of the people...
The heart is a vital organ in the human body, and metaphorically, and spiritually speaking the heart is essential to ones worship of God. The creator of the universe looks upon the heart, because from there, God can examine ones love for him and ones devotion to him.
