Minimalist
The ultimate guide to organizing your home, decluttering your mind, and creating a joyful life
Introduction
My story goes back to the time when I was unmarried. I was doing an excellent job cleaning and tidying the apartment where I lived alone. Things took a quick turn in the opposite direction after having kids.
From maintaining a clean and tidy apartment, I was suddenly finding myself neck-deep in the clutter all the time. I would walk around the house, and there would be books, toys, clothes, and other items scattered around no matter where I went. Things were getting more complicated.
The complications were leading to frustration. I was getting frustrated every time I tried doing a chore after returning from work.
There was a day when I had to visit my brother in his home with the kids. After ringing the doorbell, my sister-in-law answered the door. Upon stepping into the house, I knew I had stumbled upon the solution to my problem.
Throughout my visit, I kept quizzing my sister-in-law on how she was comfortable with having just enough. I couldnt get all the answers, but I got the keyword to type into the search box. The keyword was minimalism.
After going through thousands of articles and devoting my time to watching videos, I finally put the concepts of minimalism to the test. The results of this new idea brought about harmony and freedom in my life.
Minimalism changed my life in different ways. I learned how to control my spending habits, and I can now say that that has been one of the best changes I have made in life. I was able to quit my job in a magazine company after a few years with enough savings to support my dream of becoming a tidying expert and cleaning coach as well.
The minimalism principle also altered my approach to life. These days, I take time to question every decision to ensure it is the right one. The eating habits of my family has also been affected by minimalism. Rather than eating out, we spend time preparing healthy meals, which allows us to develop our family bonds when sitting around the dining table.
These are just some of the areas that minimalism has transformed in my life. If you take the time to implement various concepts that you will find in this book, you are sure to notice transformations in yours as well. Simple things like the hours you spend tidying up your room now have a more positive impact in it. You spend less time on the home cleaning procedure, so you can try other productive ventures.
As a tidying expert and cleaning coach, I always encourage individuals to keep their things in order. The various principles I apply when helping people achieve their goal of decluttering their home and adopting the minimalist lifestyle is what I have covered in this book. After completing each chapter, you will also find a takeaway section that gives a quick summary of the key points in the chapter.
I have simplified the minimalist principles here to make it seem like you are having a one-on-one conversation with me. You will learn everything that makes it easy to practice minimalism. You will know some of the major forms of this lifestyle as well to ensure that you pick one that supports your needs.
A major problem individuals face when decluttering their home is that they do not have an idea about how to handle their sentimental items correctly. Nevertheless, you will find out the straightforward method you need to solve this problem that holds a lot of people back. You can also expect to learn how to change your mindset in this book, considering that is the determining factor in achieving success as a minimalist.
In case you have problems when it comes to controlling your expenditures, you can expect to find a chapter here as well that will help you manage your spending habits. Furthermore, you can gather simple techniques to implement minimalism in various aspects of your life, including your social life, mind, finances, and environmental impact.
Dont wait until you complete the book before putting these principles into practice. You should try out each one as you make progress to give you the motivation that you need to go on to the next chapters.
The secret of happiness, you see, is not found in seeking more but in developing the capacity to enjoy less.

What Is Minimalism?
M inimalism is a way of adapting to a lifestyle in which you remove everything that has no impact on your survival. In addition to getting rid of the things that you identify as unnecessary, you also create space to add other items that give you joy and offer value.
A minimalist abstains from the consumerist lifestyle in which an individual is driven towards accumulating more possessions. In the case of minimalism, your drive is to own less and live with the things you genuinely need. You strive for a contented life with fewer items to think about.
How Does Minimalist Living Look Like?
Minimalist living varies from one person to the other. You must understand that any set of rules cannot guide you towards minimalism. You can decide to apply its principles in an area that differs from mine.
It is common to find an individual who may decide to go into an extreme form of minimalism. They can choose to live with just three shirts and two pairs of trousers under their name, for instance. In your case, your essentials may include 10 shirts and five pairs of pants. It all depends on your preference and what you can tolerate.
There are different types of minimalist lifestyles that people adopt, including:
Essential Minimalism
This is a form of minimalism in which individuals live with just the essentials. The latter refers to the basic items that are necessary for survival, such as clothes, food, and shelter. By focusing on quality over quantity, individuals make the distinction between their wants and needs.
