ABOUT THE EDITORS
Dr. Mark A. Maddix is professor of practical theology and Christian discipleship and dean of the School of Theology and Christian Ministries at Northwest Nazarene University. Dr. Maddix is the coauthor of DiscoveringDiscipleship: Dynamics of Christian Education, Spiritual Formation: A Wesleyan Paradigm, Pastoral Practices: A Wesleyan Paradigm, and Best Practicesfor Online Education: A Guide for Christian Higher Education. He has also published many articles and chapters in the areas of Christian education, spiritual formation, pastoral theology, and online education. He lives in Nampa with his wife, Sherri. They have two grown children, Adrienne Maddix Meier and Nathan Maddix, who are both in graduate school.
Dr. Jay Richard Akkerman is professor of pastoral theology, director of graduate theological online education, and codirector of Wesley Center Conferencing at Northwest Nazarene University. A graduate of Asbury Theological Seminary, Nazarene Theological Seminary, and NNU, Dr. Akkerman coedited Postmodern and Wesleyan: Exploring the Boundariesand Possibilities in addition to publishing other book chapters and numerous articles.
