Acknowledgments
Where to begin? Why not at the top? I thank You, God, for guiding my soul to this moment and this task, and for the privilege of serving You and all You have created. And so it is!
Second only to Spirit, I thank the two most loved and cherished souls in my life, who have made my journey on Earth possible: my mom and dad, Ann and Rudy Calabrese. Through their deep love, I learned to believe in myself, and that I could be, do, and have all that my heart desired. I picked the best the Universe had to offer, and I am so very grateful that they picked me.
Of course, I would be remiss if I did not thank my unseen helpers in Spirit who have guided and nurtured me throughout the writing of this book, particularly my spirit guide, Roger Smythe, my teacher and friend, whose initial presence shocked the heck out of me and changed my life forever. To my angel, Gabriel, I offer my loving thanks, and I will continue, with your help, to trumpet the word! To those I love who have made the transition to Spirit Marge Goering, whose loving friendship I will always treasure, who encouraged the best in me and made me feel smart, talented and capable, when I couldnt see anything worthwhile in myself, to Nani and the little child-soul, Gabriel, who together watched over this book from its spiritual inception, and who continue to guide all my writing efforts.
Here on the Earth plane there are so many to thank that I could write another book of nothing but thank-yous and call it My Gratitude Journal, but here goes...
My heartfelt thanks to all those at Llewellyn who read my book and decided it was worth printing, and to all those who made it happen. I thank Barbara Wright and Nancy Mostad for guiding me through the first-time author process, and Bill Cannon and his team for the beautiful cover. My blessings and thanks, especially, to Becky Zins, my very insightful and uplifting editor.
This book would not have been written if were not for some very special people that God put in my path to show me the way. My loving thanks goes to Jeff Burnett and Loriann Ercan, my dearest friends, who have embraced and loved me through thick and thin, book and all. I love you guys, now and always. I thank my friend Steven Dolan, who made me promise him I would write a book, and here it is. My thanks to Becky Flora, the instrument, who introduced me to a life of wonder and Spirit. Thanks to Holly Thomas for her input in the early writing phases, and Doris Foster, who typed, sweated, and prayed with me while we waited for the right and perfect publisher, and to Lisa Mainetti Kane, who guided this book, and its author, gently and generously through its conceptual and formative stages.
My love and thanks go to my dear family and friends, especially Lynn Heuermann, who cheered me on from the very start and who stands behind me even when Im a pain in the neck. Get ready to go on the road, Lynn! To the members of the Metaphysical Church of the Spirit and Metaphysical Center for Arts & Sciences, my eternal thanks to all of you for your loyalty, inspiration, and devotion.
Finally, my gratitude goes to those whose stories are mentioned in this book, and to all of you, the readers, may you always get everything you ever wanted. Blessings to you.
Go in light, love, and peace. And so it is!
Introduction
About four years ago my trusty Chevy Celebrity bit the dust. I loved her. I even gave her a nickname, Silver Streak. She was my pal, getting me everywhere I needed to go in record time. But when she coughed up her last transmission, I knew it was time to say goodbyeonly I had some major problems. First, I was teaching at fivecount em, fivecolleges and had to go from one to the other every day, five days a week. The second problem was money. I was broke. Third, I had no credit because I had maxed out about seven credit cards to their excruciating limits by charging my apartment rent on them. To make matters worse, the income from all my teaching jobs was less than half my total monthly debt. I didnt think any self-respecting car dealer would lend me a penny. Still, I had always dreamed of a shiny, black Jeep Cherokee. Undaunted by poverty, I decided to manifest a new car.
Now I had learned and read about this manifesting stuff. My metaphysical and psychic studies had covered this topic, but I didnt have any experience with it myself. I thought it looked doable on paper but not in real life. All of the books on the subject seemed vague and mysterious and I felt there had to be an easier way. So with my back against the proverbial wall, I was determined to give manifesting a trymy way.
