Though there is plenty of deadwood in religion, SOAR with the essence within. When we alight to perch and take rest within the rituals and familiarity of religion, use that time to rummage through, for the deeper essence and meaning. Be the eagle that soars within the beauty, guidance and wisdom.
The cover photographs were shot by Andrew Singh Williams. The Australian wedge-tailed eagle taking off from a dead tree was photographed in Kinglake, Victoria, Australia a few months after the devastating Black Saturday Fires in 2009. The other is Dya Singh performing at the Parliament of World Religions to the Dalai Lama, 2009.

CONTENTS
Sikhing is derived from the north Indian life philosophy generally referred to as Sikhism (Dya Singh also refers to it as Sikhi). Adherents are called Sikhs. Sikh in Punjabi (Gurmukhi), the authors mother tongue and source language of Sikhism literally means to seek or to learn. A Sikh is a Student of Life. So the word Sikhing coined by Dya Singh, simply means seeking, the Sikh way.
The authors originality of writing is maintained in general. Dya Singh writes in English as he speaks in music concerts and at forums. It is his unique mode of communication.
He quotes from his Guru (Teacher), the eternal guru and also scriptures of Sikhs, the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji abbreviated as SGGS when quoting page numbers.

DYA SINGH THE INSPIRATIONAL TRAVELLER
Dya Singh is a world renowned personality, who endeared himself to his admirers and followers, through his melodious singing and presentations on world stages or private performances, Youth Camps, Meditation Sessions and Multi-faith Programmes all over the globe. Wherever Dya Singh has gone and performed, he has left his audiences wanting more, of his message of One Truth, Truthful Living, Perpetual Optimism and Love of Humanity.
This book is the crystallization of his thoughts and decades long experiences, as a World Traveller and Messenger of the Truth. In very specific terms, Sikhing Success & Happiness, is an excellent attempt by Dya Singh to share with the readers, what he calls, the best kept secret of this planet. This best kept secret is the message of the Truth and Truthful Living, as depicted through the writings of the Sikh Gurus (Teachers), which is judiciously recorded in the Sri Guru Granth Sahib.
It is a universal message, which transcends all man-made inter-national boundaries and different human traditions, that speaks of:
One Humanity and love of that Humanity ( Manas ki Jaat sebhai aikai pehchanbo Guru Gobind S ingh );
Perpetual optimism and psychological fortitude ( Chardi Kala ); and
Well-being of all Mankind ( Sarbat da Bh alla )
On his extensive tours and through his performances, he has admirably and repeatedly passed on this universal message. He has given credence to this message again and again, through the multi-cultural composition of the musical group with whom he has composed and performed. In this respect, he is indeed a pioneer of the global Sikh Community, and has persevered to demonstrate the beauty and universality of music and the fundamental human values, which are pervasive in all humanity.
Through the thought provoking chapters of Sikhing Success & Happiness, Dya Singh is sharing a profound message with his readers, as to how the Sikh universal value system could be the recipe for the ever illusive happiness that all human beings crave for. As always in his life, here too, Dya provides concrete steps and strategies as to how an individual can attain happiness with a judicious balance of the material and spiritual world.
Finally, in this book, Dya Singh has, in very broad terms, provided documentation on another area of his life - his labour of love, where he has set into motion a unique revolutionary process where other, like-minded individuals, can follow in his footsteps. This is the field where the young of the global Sikh Community have also ironically been the victim of the best kept secret of this planet- the message of a futuristic and universal Sikh value system.
Dyas pioneering work for one and a half decade with the Singapore Sikh Education Foundation (1995 2011) bears testimony to his creative strategies in blending both the Western and Eastern innovative approaches to motivate young Sikh learners on the journey to cherishing their unique and precious Sikh Heritage.
