CONTENTS
I ve known about Billy Epperhart for decades, even back when he was a pastor. But its only in the last six years that Ive really got to know him as he first became a vital part of our Business school in Charis Bible College and then a vital part of my leadership team for Andrew Wommack Ministries. He was indispensable in our negotiations to acquire a $21 million, 336 tract of land with a 60,000 sq. ft. building on it. He has also been vitally involved in all aspects of our administration. He directed our transition from a simple 501 (c) 3 to five different corporations which include holding companies and for profit and political companies. He has dealt directly with our auditors and all aspects of running a $70 million ministry. He has personally mentored all of our top management and Ive seen them grow tremendously under his leadership.
Billy has also represented me overseas in numerous locations and started micro finance banks which are very successful. As my personal envoy, he has handled problems which have arisen in a number of our foreign offices and Ive been very pleased with the results. Billy is a team player and not out to promote himself. Thats a rare quality which has led me to put a huge amount of trust in him and his abilities.
Im honored to recommend Billy as a person and his ministry on leadership. Ive seen it up close and personal and know that anyone, at any level can benefit from his teaching on leadership.
Andrew Wommack
Founder and President of
Andrew Wommack Ministries and Charis Bible College.
E very one of us will in some way or another be placed in at least small positions of leadership throughout our lives. In fact, leadership is a nuanced subject, and it filters throughout every facet of our lives.
Some people chooseor are thrust intolarge leadership roles, while others assume smaller leadership roles in a myriad of life settings. Some are born with innate leadership skills while others must strive to develop the skillset. No matterthis book holds lessons for every type of leader. Whether you want to rise in the corporate ranks, jumpstart your own business, pioneer a church or volunteer at a nonprofit, become a better parent or grandparent, or youre a college student on the edge of the rest of your life, this book will guide you to bigger and better things.
Lets face it, all leadership is not created equal. Thats why Leadership Mastery is about good leadership on its way to great leadership. Its about preparing yourself in small ways and big ways. Its about instilling in yourself a spirit of faith and the ability to communicate your vision to others. Its about recognizing that great leaders are made from the inside out. Thats why I wrote Leadership Mastery in three parts: Leadership and You; Leadership and Others; and Leadership and Your Organization.
Leadership and You
Great leadership starts with a great leader. And being a great leader starts with preparing yourself through personal development, so we begin here. You will learn how to overcome obstacles of disappointment while growing and changing through courage and faith.
A great leader is also one who knows his or her purpose, and a shared purpose unites people. You cannot lead your family or your organization without a destination in mind. Otherwise, youll be wandering in the dark! In Part One of Leadership Mastery we look at how to find or refine your purpose and establish a pattern for success.
Leadership and Others
In Part Two of Leadership Mastery, we focus outward and consider others. Whether as a parent, older sibling, CEO, or a pastor, leadership starts in the home. Leadership of a family is a representation of what leaders of organizations need to do. Leadership is not isolated to your business. You cannot spend all your energy trying to be a good business or church leader but neglect your family.
