Letter from Joanna
m so grateful youve chosen to study my book Lazarus Awakening: Finding Your Place in the Heart of God.
When my publisher asked me to expand the original Bible study and add video sessions, I could hardly waitespecially when they gave me the go-ahead to film the teaching sessions in Israel. Three years ago my husband, John, and I visited the Holy Land for the first time. Everywhere we went, I saw lessons from Lazarus and analogies that point to the resurrection life God wants to bring to every one of us. Now I have a chance to share them with you!
Just as Jesus called Lazarus out of his grave, I believe He desires to call you and me out of our tombs as well. Out of the caves of self-protection and halfway living we often settle for and into the abundant life He came to give. So that you and I become wide-awake believersmade fully alive as God intends us to be!
Over the next eight weeks, I want us to invite the Holy Spirit into every corner of our hearts, allowing the spotlight of heaven to show us places that need the touch of God. But doing that will require courage at times, my friend. For we must be willing to acknowledge any weak spots the Spirit reveals, if we are to walk out of the darkness of tombs into the glorious light of resurrection life.
In some ways, this study is the most personal one Ive ever written. Youll be asked questions that dont necessarily have easy answers. And throughout the study, Ill ask you to interact with God in prayer. Please dont rush through or skip over those parts. For it is only as we allow God to search our hearts, that Hes able to revealand then heal!the sin-sick places in us all.
Freedom awaits each one of us as we set our minds on studying Gods Word and willingly open our hearts to the Holy Spirits work. For Love is calling our names
Its time to come forth!
Becoming His,
He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.
