Lyrics to Dont You Want to Thank Someone are written by Andrew Peterson 2012. Used by permission.
For all those convinced all is lost for Christianity, I say, Read this book! Stonestreet and Smith aim to restore some balance to the doom and gloom narrative by pointing us to the stories that prove that God is still at work today, through people who are addressing the brokenness and taking the opportunities right in front of their noses. Inspiring!
Eric Metaxas , New York Times bestselling author of Miracles : What They Are , Why They Happen , and How They Can Change Your Life
Restoring All Things is an important and timely book. Smith and Stonestreet provide an insightful analysis of contemporary culture as well as practical steps each one of us can take to make a difference right where we are. I pray this book makes the wide and lasting impact it deserves.
Sean McDowell , professor, Biola University; speaker; coauthor of Same - Sex Marriage
In a world that seems to be going to hell in a hand basket, Warren Cole Smith and John Stonestreet provide not just encouragement but a good swift kick in the pants. If we really believe that God came in Christ not just to save our souls but to restore all things in Him, then we cannot despair. No matter how hostile the world may seem to the gospel, it is still Gods world, and the Good News applies to all of it. There is no pocket of society or human existence that lies outside of Gods loving dominion. Smith and Stonestreet show how Gods people are already advancing Gods kingdom in the here and now as well as give concrete advice on how to take part. You should read this book.
Jay W . Richards , PhD , bestselling author; professor, Catholic University of America; senior fellow, the Discovery Institute
As a detective, I find my heart resonating with the work of Warren Cole Smith and John Stonestreet. Like me, they want to make a difference in a world often filled with despair and injustice. In Restoring All Things , Smith and Stonestreet make a case for how God can use each of us to impact our world. Like good detectives, theyve interviewed and investigated the lives of many key witnesses used by God to transform their friends, families, and communities. Their examples will inspire and motivate you. If you want to make a difference, let this book be your call to action.
J . Warner Wallace , c old case homicide detective; author of Cold - Case Christianity and God s Crime Scene
When the world is new again
And the children of the King
Are ancient in their youth again
Maybe its a better thing
A better thing...
To be more than merely innocent
But to be broken then redeemed by love
Maybe this old world is bent
But its waking up
And Im waking up.

Introduction: God Loveth Re Words
Words like restore, renew, refresh, resurrect, and redeem are found throughout Scripture. It is time for the church to relearn them.
1. Great News!
The church is alive and well, and is at work in the world.
2. Helping That Helps
Not all help is helpful, and the Christian church has learned much it can teach the world about caring for the poor.
3. Capitalism for the Common Good
God is a worker, and we are created in His image. Therefore our work, when rightly understood and engaged, can bring good to the world.
Christians across America and around the world have heroically saved babies and helped women by offering compassionate alternatives to abortion.
5. Women at the Well
Christians have led the way in rescuing women and girls from prostitution and human trafficking.
6. Coloring Outside the Lines
Throughout history, Christians have championed education and education reform.
7. Justice That Restores
Societies struggle with how to handle those convicted of crime. Christians are leading the way in returning restored citizens to our communities.
8. Forgiveness Heals, Time Doesnt
Racial reconciliation must be more than a buzz phrase. Many churches are taking it seriously and offering strategies for healing and progress.
9. Loving God with All Your Mind
Confronting ideological intolerance, Christian professors are refusing to choose between their faith and their scholarship.
10. It Doesnt Define You
Christians are living proof that ones sexuality isnt their deepest identity.
11. Not the Least of These
Through a heroic perseverance and strong faith, Christians can show the world how to handle suffering and disability.
12. Giving Marriage to the World, Once Again
Christians are, once again, offering the good gift of marriage as a healing institution to a sexually exhausted culture.
Christians have proclaimed the dignity of all life by taking seriously the exhortation in James to care for orphans.
14. In the Beginning, God Created
God is a Creator, and we are made to create too. For centuries, Christians led the way in the arts. Some modern Christians are leading the way again.
15. Aim Small, Miss Small
A mentor of ours once said, If you want to change the world, start by cleaning your room.
Conclusion: Two Personal Stories
John and Warren both recount personal stories that demonstrate how restoration became a reality in their lives.

Foreword
In that day, Israel will be one of three with Egypt and Assyriaa blessing in the midst of the land.
Isaiah 19:24 NKJV
Unless youve been living in a cave somewhere, youre probably aware that followers of Jesus are up against a stiff challenge. Along with the rest of our contemporaries, were caught up in a cultural milieu where conflict and controversy have become the order of the day. Everywhere you look, society seems to have been reduced to a bewildering array of warring camps. Pride, power plays, money, sex, and prestige seem to drive the passions of people on all sides of every issue. If youre like me, you wish you could do something about it. Youre thinking to yourself, There must be a better way. There has to be a better way.
