Foreword
Humans have been attempting to build bridges betweenthis world and the other long before history was recorded.Shamans, custodians of the tribes spiritual and physicalhealth, communicated with the earthly and spirit worldin order to heal and protect their tribes spiritual andphysical health.
Every culture has an oracular tradition; that is, a way ofallowing deity or universal energy to speak though themfor predictive wisdom. Whether its consulting the coffeebeans in Ethiopia, chicken entrails in remote Indonesia orthe runes in Scandinavia, people instinctively wish to knowmore about themselves and their future.
Consulting a wise seer, the witch of the village or the priestessof the temple used to be an everyday event. As time wenton, in complex civilised societies such as ancient Greece, whole cities sprang up around seats of oracular power.Perhaps the most powerful oracle of all was at Delphi inGreece, where it was said that the God Apollo spoke directlythrough his priestess. The advice of the Delphic oracle wassought by powerful and legendary figures, such as Caesarand Alexander, with whole wars turning on what the oraclehad to say.
This time of technology, science and mass knowledge thatpeople are still interested in developing their intuition or psychic ability has grown exponentially. As a metaphysicist and someone who has studied psychic ability and other practical spiritual arts, I find this renewed interest in psychic revelation something worth looking at.
Is it that people wish to hand over the responsibility for decision making to someone else? Is it that people are simply silly and superstitious? Is it that they instinctively feel that there is more than what science presents to us right now? Have these people felt glimmers of this very skill within themselves? These are complex questions but I believe the last two questions provide the answers.
There is no question that psychic ability exists, although I clearly dont believe in every psychic. I am in the majority with that view. While the pseudo-sceptics and sceptics may disagree, the majority of people do believe that psychic ability is reality.* It is a rare person who hasnt experienced a gut feeling that something told them to make a decision, or had an experience of knowing who was going to be on the other end of a phone line before answering. We often call this feeling of inner knowingness, intuition. I like to think that psychic ability is intuition on steroids! That psychic ability is a completely natural although supernatural talent that people can be more genetically or physically disposed to. However, these are skills we can all develop. This is what Jade-Skys Psychic Secrets brings to you.
I met Jade-Sky a number of years ago, connecting with her instantly. We had a conversation about mediumship and I found her quiet dedication to serving others refreshing. In a world where mediumship is becoming about the show rather than the service, her humility and egoless way of working was impressive. I decided to have a reading with her and found that she did not use cold reading techniques and that the reading tackled the past (verifiable), present (also verifiable) and the future. With the future predictions she happily gave dates, names and times, and years down the track; over half of these predictions came to pass. We began to work together on workshops and books, not because our methods are similar but because they are different! We believe that there are many paths to the same destination and that this benefitted the student or enquirer.
There are many books about psychic phenomena, the science of the supernatural and mediumship. A useful book in this area doesnt just tell a story about the practitioner, but invites you to participate and increase your own change should you desire it.
Psychic Secrets gives the reader a simple step-by-step guide to trying a whole variety of traditional skills. It is also a book that requires joyful action and curious participation. Try the exercises and answer the questions. In doing this you will gain full benefit from what this graceful teacher is giving to you.
I am gratified to see that Jade-Sky has mentioned the importance of connecting with earth energies and the power in grounding with these methods, which is something that I teach and recognise as extremely valuable in development. Shielding and grounding are overlooked in many psychic skills programs, to the detriment of developing practitioners. I liken this to going to the gym for the first time and going straight for the heavy weights maybe you can give them a good push, maybe you can lift them, but there is a very good chance that youll damage yourself trying. It would be so much better to have a good instructor, a good level of fitness before the attempt; no one gets hurt and your muscles grow! Spiritual damage prevention is as important as physical damage prevention.
Whether you are a believer in the spirit world or psychic ability, or are someone who wants to improve their gut feel, you will find something worthwhile for your time and effort within these pages.
Enjoy!
