ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
My six childrenJared, Jacob, Isaac, Rachael, Joshua, Jordanand my grandson Jeffery have been the shoulders I could lean on when feeling weak or vulnerable, who supplied me with the necessary strength and courage to keep going, keep persisting, and keep believing that nothing is impossible.
I wish to thank adversityit, too, has been one of my greatest teachers and mentors. No doubt it has been the grinding stone in my life; some days it really grinds me down, but when I apply what I have written in this book, those skills and disciplines really polish me up and allow me to shine.
It is with my sincere appreciation that I bring tribute and give credit to all the people I know or whom I have read about in life who have been blindsided and had to endure hardship. Their stories have helped me figure out how to work through my fears, anxieties, and hardships, turning my scars into stars. Had it not been for the countless people who mustered up the courage to face adversity and then tell or write about it, the world never would have heard their pearls of wisdom.
Next on my list, I wish to thank two amazing business associates who have heavily participated in my emotional and financial success: my sons Isaac and Jacob. It has been their sheer genius (which never ceases to amaze me) along with their business talent that has put Market Traders Institute (MTI) on the worldwide map. Thank you for being the key strategic players MTI so desperately needed. Further, their capability has allowed me the freedom to write this book.
Next, I wish to thank Suzanne Keator for all her support and for helping to take this project to the very end. Her genius ability with words and the English language has allowed me to articulate on paper what was in my head. Thank you!
Last, I wish to thank all the MTI clients worldwide for having faith and trust in me. Thank you for opening up your homes and hearts to me and my family. Your shared perception of the world, the market, and countless challenging questions have allowed me to widen my perception of the world and market.
In addition, I would like to thank all our staff and worldwide partners at MTI for their dedication, support, and belief in our vision. You not only are great business partners, but also have become some of my best friends.
I am deeply grateful to all the staff at McGraw-Hill who have participated in bringing this book to market. Thank you for believing in me.
I cannot finish my acknowledgments without recognizing my parentsGod rest their soulswho never promised days without pain, laughter without sorrow, or sun without rain, but rather instilled in me a belief of being a Mexi-Can instead of a MexiCant. They gave me strength during my dark days, comfort for my fears and tears, and a light that showed the way!
Introduction
I am your constant companion,
I am your greatest helper or your heaviest burden.
I will push you onward or drag you down to failure.
I am at your command.
Half of the tasks that you do you might just as well
Turn over to me, and I will do them quickly and correctly.
I am easily managed. You must merely be firm with me.
Show me exactly how you want something done.
After a few lessons, I will do it automatically.
I am the servant of all great people
And the regret of all failures as well.
Those who are great, I have made great.
Those who are failures, I have made failures.
I am not a machine, but I will work with all its precision
