Foreword
I first met David and Leslie at my Luxury Mastermind Retreat in Italy. They had already achieved financial freedom and could have easily just coasted through the rest of their days. I was amazed at their passion for helping others and their willingness to give back and teach others their success principles for financial freedom. They are on a mission of helping empower people to make better, more informed financial decisions.
This book you are about to read provides a goldmine of moneymaking ideas to create financial freedom. In addition, it provides leadership skills to run successful businesses, teaches powerful techniques for creating multiple streams of income, and step-by-step examples of how to manage your money. This book gives you the roadmap to achieve financial freedom in less than five years.
I congratulate you for choosing this book. The fact that you are reading it says that you have a vision in your mind of becoming financially successful. This vision of your own potential is an important first step in your ultimate financial success. This book isnt just about money; it is about creating the life you want.
David and Leslie remind us that wherever you are on your financial journey you can start today to create financial freedom. First, find your greatest purpose in life that can be aligned with your financial goals, then simply develop daily habits that support your financial success and take massive action. David and Leslie inspire and empower you to believe in yourself and start your path toward financial freedom.
In my book The Success Principles , I outline a series of principles that lead to greater success in any aspect of your life. Similarly, in this book, David and Leslie identify and illustrate principles that will help you become financially free.
In my talks, I often quote my friend Tony Robbins, who says that success leaves clues. In this book, David and Leslie provide the clues, and have provided something even more important: They have given you specific action steps to apply those clues to your own financial benefit. With this book you have a clear set of actions that, when applied, will lead consistently and predictably to your financial success.

Introduction:
The Journey Begins
Success is not the key to happiness. Happiness is the key to success. If you love what you are doing, you will be successful.

T he song Dream On by Aerosmith was blasting from the boat speakers. The sun glistened off the tiny waves in the lake. It was a perfect summer day in Austin, Texas. The year was 2010. My wife, Leslie, and I were cruising along the lake in our old beater boat. We were pulling our two boys along in a tube behind the boat and they were smiling from ear to ear.
We are a boating family. Back when this journey began, we shared a boat on Lake Austin with a couple of other families. It was not a new boat but a boat we all enjoyed, although we did have to get it towed occasionally. In one of our towing experiences, I was the tugboat and slapped the rope over my shoulder and swam the boat back to the dock. Those days hold wonderful shared memories for our families and were filled with lots of laughter.
As we cruised along the lake, I kept noticing all of the nice multimillion-dollar homes along the water. Most houses were massive and had negative edge pools, beaches on the water, palm trees in the yard, and brand new expensive boats in their boat slips. I asked Leslie, What do you think all of these people do for a living? They werent necessarily more educated than we were. They werent necessarily more successful in their careers, either. However, the owners of those beautiful homes were living a lifestyle that was beyond what our careers and savings could produce. I knew one of the owners and commented that he was an engineer who had invested in storage units.
Up until now, we thought we were the fortunate ones. Or were we? We had good educations, careers, and good incomes. We had worked hard to build our careers and were fulfilled with our accomplishments and the lifestyle we were living. I had a satisfying career as an engineer and had created the technology for some very cool products like the Xbox, PlayStation, iPhone, and iPad. Leslie was a successful family therapist and had touched many lives in her career. However, as we looked at the future and began to plan for a comfortable retirement, we realized that, with our nest egg savings, we were not going to retire any time soon. And if we did retire, we certainly could not maintain the same lifestyle we currently had. Furthermore, our kids were growing up fast and I wanted to spend more time with them before they went off to college. My long hours as an engineer were limiting my time with the boys. We started asking the questions that began our journey to financial freedom.
