G od is a true friend. Now, it might sound a little far-fetched to say, Jesus is my best friend, but when you face lifes difficulties and deep joys, you begin to understand how true this statement is. Your Lordand the maker of your heart and mind, with all their complexitiesis a generous, loving, forgiving, and personal God.

As you discover more about who God is and what Hes like, as well as discovering these things about yourself, youll be inspired to follow His lead a bit more each dayeach montheach year. Gods loyalty and consistency offer you a foundation of securityand that security will help you give and be your very best.

Your relationship with God will be strengthened the more you talk to Him through prayer. If it doesnt feel normal to talk to God yet, give it time, and give Him time as Hes at work in your heart and life. When you arent even sure what to say or what to ask, God is in the middle of the silence. Hell know what your heart needs.

Prayer Starter:

God, I need You for many things. And since You created my life, You know just what I need and when I need it. Sometimes it feels like You are far away and not involved in my life. I believe that You are near and that You care. Help my beliefs and my feelings line up as I spend more time talking to You. I really want to feel that You are my Lord and friend.

Right now, I need to feel that Youre with me as I face these situations:

Im grateful for Your friendship, God. As I learn how to talk to You and how to trust the times of silence and of waiting, I know that You are with me and that You are making me into the young woman I am meant to become. Amen.

H ow does your faith in God affect your life and the way you live it? Do you think about Him during the day? Do you talk with your Creator when you face difficulties or reach important goals? Imagine how much the Creator of the universe could do through you if you opened up your life to more: more of His power. More of His goodness. More of His grace.

Being a Christian should impact your life in big ways. Its like receiving sight after being blind for a dozen yearsall of a sudden you can see how you are a part of Gods action in the world. Your uniqueness is an important piece of the universes puzzle. Wouldnt it be sad to miss out on knowing this wonderful truth about yourself?

Pick a day this week that youll think about how God is working through you at any and every moment of the day. Consider how God is acting through you and using your life and abilities to serve a bigger purpose. If you have a journal or a blog, maybe write about how your day went with this new perspective.

Was anything different? Did you view happenings or people differently? Did God feel more a part of your daily life? In what ways did you feel He was leading you? Did any of your friends notice a change?

Prayer Starter:

Thank You for creating me as me, Lord. In many ways, Im just beginning to appreciate the life You have given me. Help me use it for good things. Direct my steps so I walk in Your ways. I want to discover all the wonderful aspects of life You are hoping to show me during my lifetime. Right now I pray about areas in my life that dont make sense:

Help me see Your hand on my life in these situations or circumstances. It feels good to be heard, God. I am lucky to know You. Amen.
