GRACE IN THE GRAY
Because grace is beautiful, I think God designed us for beautiful relationships. Sometimes relationships are hard. That is what my friend Mike Donehey has accomplished in his new book, Grace in the Graya way to love and discuss hard things the way Jesus would.
Bob Goff , New York Times bestselling author of Love Does, Dream Big, and Undistracted
Ive had the privilege of knowing Mike Donehey for many years now and have always felt that he is one of the most thoughtful lyricists and communicators I know. Mike is a thinker, but so much more than that, he is a lover of people. Written with just the right amount of humor, reflection, and heart, Grace in the Gray shows us how to focus on the people we may disagree with more than focusing on the issue at hand.
Mac Powell , Grammy Awardwinning singer and songwriter
In a world that is seemingly more divided and polarized than ever, Mike stands out as a peacemaker. He has a unique gift of reaching across the divides and reminding people with his own vulnerability that we are all created and loved by the same God.

FINDING GODS LIFE FOR MY WILL
Who is waiting for you when the road rises up and smacks you in the face, when life sneaks up and hits you from behind and knocks you to your knees? Mike Donehey realized it was from these positions that he was in the best place to reach out for Gods hand and rise up. From accidents and intentions, decadence to ascension, his life and Gods will found a place called home.
Ken Mansfield , author, producer, and former US manager of the Beatles Apple Records
At times in our friendship, God has used Mike to tell me exactly what I need to hear at just the right moment. I believe many will feel that Mike has done the same for them after reading Finding Gods Life for My Will. Reading Mikes words is like getting a new eyeglass prescription. Youll see Jesus and life with new clarity, and the result will be joy, freedom, and peace. This is a great read for anyone looking to take a next step with Jesus while laughing along the way.
Timothy Ateek , teaching pastor at Watermark Community Church
Challenging, captivating, and convicting. In Finding Gods Life for My Will, Mike not only offers a refreshing perspective, but he also gives us the wisdom we need to really live the life we were always made for!

INTRODUCTION
The Art of Elegant Disagreement
My wife is really good at disagreeing with me. Im sure Im not unique in this experience. But what might be unique is that Ive learned to love it. Well, Im learning to love it. Ill be posting a video online or texting some advice to a friend, and shell joyfully stride in, peek over my shoulder, and say, Are you sure you want to say it like that?
I used to cringe at those words, but even though its taken me years, Ive come to welcome her critique. It helps that shes tactful, but trust me when I say that learning to love her dissent has been a journey in and of itself. I would even say that learning to love her opposing point of view has been instrumental in the writing of this book. Her considerations helped shift my initial idea. This book started out as something else entirely.
At first, I thought this was going to be a book outlining my personal positions on divisive topics. I was going to address every controversial matter the world has ever known. Id do extensive research. Id do a deep dive into a myriad of commentaries. I would eventually dazzle you with such scholastic brilliance that youd realize my conclusions were so astute and insurmountable you wouldnt even dream of drawing any others. (Im sorry if thats what you were hoping for. I really did try.)
I would begin with the topic of alcohola perfect choice because the opinions on drinking, at least within the church worlds Ive been a part of, are varied and can be vitriolic. I even had a great chapter title: Help! My Girlfriend Ordered a Beer! Building off a true story, I would woo and wow you into complete agreement.
