Praise for Theist vs Atheist
Bless you for writing this book. It is very nice. I read it with pleasure because the format was easy to read. Your dialogue with Thomas is very nice, and I think your work is something that many people, including middle and high school students, can benefit from and read easily.
- I. Kaya
I read the book with pleasure and excitement. I kept on congratulating you from the inside as I read it. You have put together something truly worthy of congratulation. It is very nice and the arguments you present to Thomas are very rational.
- . Paksu
I congratulate you. Your book is the nicest and most satisfying book I have read in years.
- A. Erdoan
I read this book in one sitting, and I am going to read it again. I saw that all Atheists questions and answers are the same, so I consider this book a source for us believers. God bless you. The contents are full of beneficial and satisfying information.
- H. Servet
This book was written beautifully and in an easy to understand way. Even the examples from The Risale-i Nur Collection are very nicely explained. There are some questions from Thomas which keep you on the edge as you wonder about how the author is going to respond. When he does respond, you think, Look how nicely he explained it. I think the Thomass around us have to read this book.
- From a readers message to us
Thomass disbelief is present in a lot of people, but in various degrees. I read this book, and I greatly benefitted from it. It can be a remedy for anyone who has gone through a secular education system. I recommend it to everyone.
- A. Serdar
Thank God there are still people like you. You made very nice explanations to convince Thomas. I have always wanted to read a book like this; a book that would help me completely embrace God and Islams values as the truth; a book that would help me reach salvation. I have never read a book of this type before. Thank God it came out as a terrific book. We are waiting for its continuation.

When you read this book, its as if you are also sitting at the lakeside with them, and you are also using your thoughts to go on a journey to find God. When the discussion gets heated, you feel excitement, as if you are a part of the discussion.
- From a readers message to us
This book will help guide those who have weak faith in Godor do not know Godto the right path. It will enlighten them, and maybe it will even guide them to belief.
- M. Umut
I read your book, and it made me feel extremely happy. Believe me, I have never been this excited while reading a book.
- . Akdemir
I really liked your book. I am currently studying rigorouslyor the New York bar exam, so I thought I would just take a sneak peek at your book, but I could not prevent myself from finishing the entire book. My favorite aspect about your book is how the writing is fluent and realistic. I read the book as a silent third party observer, and I learned a lot.
- V. Jafarov
A very nice and immersive book. I finished it in two days. I am impatiently waiting for the next book.
- A reader who wrote to us under the name Boyut
This book kept me up all night. It is a great book. I will recommend it to all my friends.

PREFACE
During the past few months it has been my pleasure to hold discussions about religion and philosophy with Furkan Aydiner. For at least two hours, nearly every Saturday, in a beautiful park in a major city in Florida of the USA, Furkan and I have explored the mysteries of the universe. In these meetings East has met West in a peaceful way. In many ways, Furkan and I are quite different. I am an American man in his mid-50s, whereas Furkan is a Turkish man in his early 30s. My education culminated with a Ph.D. in Psychology, whereas Furkan has two degrees, including a doctorate in Economics. My entire work history has been in the practice of clinical psychology, helping people overcome various mental health problems. Furkan is a man of many skills and has worked as a nurse, a teacher, and a researcher. Furkan is a devout Muslim, and it could be said that I am a devout Secular Humanist. He has a strong belief in the existence of Allah, but I do not. He believes that Allahs existence is 100% probable, or nearly so, whereas I believe that his existence is less than 1% probable. Although we come from very different backgrounds and worldviews, we have nevertheless been able to discuss our different beliefs and debate many serious issues with tolerance and without animosity. The ties that bring us together are intellectual curiosity and a love of reason. We only wish that others with religious and philosophical differences could copy our model and talk to one another in a civil and respectful way. I cannot say for sure whether Furkan has accurately represented my views in this book, but I am confident that he has done his best to do so. Furthermore, I do disagree with most of Furkans current religious worldview, but nevertheless I admire his ability to articulate his beliefs and willingness to debate them in the marketplace of ideas. Only through open and full discussion and through tolerance can we all come to better understand each other in the world today.

CHAPTER 1
My First Encounter With the Atheist Thomas at Church
My God! Having nothing except You, I feel pity for those having everything but You!
- Confucius
W hen I first came to the United States, I held a strong prejudice against churches. My first visit to a church, which came after a long while, completely changed my view about churches. People were searching for God in churches as a result of their primordial nature. However, Christianity has failed to answer many questions raised since the Enlightenment. According to some, as a result of the effect of the Greek and the Roman philosophy, Christianity has become a worldly religion instead of being a celestial one. However, the fact that it has survived for two thousand years means that it includes some truth in it.
Although the Trinity was subsequently included in Christianity after serious debates, it is now widely adopted by many Christians. The Trinity is one of the most essential pillars of faith in Christianity. Despite this, rejecting this belief doesnt make a Christian an apostate. Especially many Christians who have secular education and learned critical thinking accept that it is logically difficult to comprehend The Trinity. Some of them deny the existence of God by thinking that The Trinity is not rationally acceptable, while some disregard theological discussions and perceive three elements in The Trinity as a sole Creator. Even in some church communities, where The Trinity is strictly adopted, one can come across certain individuals who accept the absolute unity of God.
