Abraham Hicks

Understanding the Life and Teachings of The Source That Operates Through Esther Hicks

By Dr. Ruth Carr

The master motivational speaker and spiritual channeler now known as Abraham Hicks was born Esther Weaver on March 5, 1948 in Coalville, Utah. Her parents, Henry Bill Emerson Weaver and Ruth Blazzard Weaver raised Esther and her sisters Jeanne and Rebecca Weaver in Layton, Utah.

Contrary to the life of blissful luxury Esther Hicks currently enjoys, she was once a smalltime girl. While she was enthralled in the effects of easygoing Rocky Mountain living, Esther says she never really thought about things too deeply. Its amazing to think that the host of hundreds of life-changing presentations didnt always view life from the supernatural perspective we see today.

Raised on fresh mountain air and family values, Esther attended South Summit High School between 1962 and 1966. Esthers beaming youthful yearbook photo was captioned Witty and Wise by her peers.

Introduction To The Life Of EstherHicks

The master motivationalspeaker and spiritual channeler now known as Abraham Hicks was bornEsther Weaver on March 5, 1948 in Coalville, Utah. Her parents,Henry Bill Emerson Weaver and Ruth Blazzard Weaver raised Estherand her sisters Jeanne and Rebecca Weaver in Layton,Utah.

Contrary to the life ofblissful luxury Esther Hicks currently enjoys, she was once asmalltime girl. While she was enthralled in the effects ofeasygoing Rocky Mountain living, Esther says she never reallythought about things too deeply. Its amazing to think that thehost of hundreds of life-changing presentations didnt always viewlife from the supernatural perspective we see today.

Raised on fresh mountain airand family values, Esther attended South Summit High School between1962 and 1966. Esthers beaming youthful yearbook photo wascaptioned Witty and Wise by her peers.

After graduating, EstherWeaver soon became Esther Geer. She married her first husband,Richard D. Geer. A few years later, Esther and Richard foundthemselves in California. She soon gave birth to a beautiful babygirl, Tracy Geer, in Fresno, California on June 2, 1971. All grownup, Tracy is now married and her last name has changed toAyers.

Back to Esthers childhood. You see this powerful motivational speaker on stage today and it istruly aweing to believe that she once just let life pass on by. Thesame Esther who is now the source of a wave thats transformedmillions of people into curators of their most fanatical reality.Although Esther was not always analytical or on a quest for higherconsciousness, she was always spiritual. She was satisfied withsitting back and watching life pass by, enjoying each minute shewas blessed to witness. Although she hadnt found her calling, shecan always recall an innate reflex to express gratitude andappreciation. Esther did not learn to cultivate her calling until afew years later.

In 1976, Esther attended abusiness presentation held by Jerry Spencer Hicks in Fresno. Bornon June 27, 1927, Jerry lived a full life. The beginning of histale is extremely unique. For starters, he spent two years in Cubaas a circus acrobat. Later, around 1948, Jerry embarked on a20-year tour. A jack of all trades, he spent time as a comedian,MC, and even a musician. When Esther finally crossed paths withhim, Jerry was an acclaimed distributor with Amway, held at theCrown level of accreditation. He was also known for giving powerfulpresentation on the late Napoleon Hills book Think and GrowRich. Esther must have been very moved from his discussion, atsome point she and Jerry transcended into blossoming friendship. OnAugust 21, 1980, she and Richards marriage was officiallyover.

Esther and Jerry were veryprivate about their personal and romantic dealings. The couplepreferred the focus of their enterprise to revolve around theirmessage. Still, the little we know is reminiscent of a match madein the heavens. Married in Las Vegas, NV on September 3, 1980, theJerry and Esther power couple was still in its infantstages.

Esther emphatically refersto husband Jerry as the worlds most intense question-asker. Hisconstant desire to learn and improve soon rubbed off on her. Shebegan to practice daily meditation, reaping rewards ofunderstanding she never knew existed. Jerry served as her liaisonto the infinite intelligence that reshaped her completeexistence.

After about nine months ofengaging in deep meditations, Jerrys desire for answers andEsthers willingness to receive formed the perfect gateway forAbraham to make its introduction to our realm. This revealing tookplace shortly after Esther read books on the work of Jane Roberts, another channeler. These messages opened Esthers mind to thepotentials and possibilities that may be accessed by anyone whoreaches a similar level of consciousness.

Abrahams influence treatedEsthers consciousness to a sense of clarity and practicality thatshe felt compelled to share with the world. They continued tocultivate the relationship, gaining a better understanding ofAbrahams message. They did not begin sharing their Abrahamteachings until 1986. First, they wrote their discoveries downtogether, then they shared their work with trusted partners in anintimate setting. Before long, their audience continue to multiplyuntil the couple reached multiple New York Times Bestselling Authorstatus. Although they were based in San Antonio, Texas, theirteachings were under such a massive demand, they travelled thecountry hosting informative workshops. People waited in intenseanticipation for the next opportunity to hear Jerry and Esthersexplanation of the life-changing principles associated withAbraham.

The Teachings of AbrahamHicks

Many believers have dubbedEsther Hicks as the inventor or founder of the Law of Attraction. This is not entirely accurate, considering the concept has beendocumented in many teachings dating back to the late 1800s.However, she and her husband Jerry successfully coined a refinedapproach to the general idea of universal principles.

Her work centers on theconcept that every being on this planet is a product of an infiniteconnection. We are energetically bound to one another and all havea constant connection to the Source of life, power, and all ofexistence. To some, this infinite Source may be referred to as Godbut to Esther, the relationship significantly varies fromtraditional religious perspectives.

Most religious doctrinesbelieve that God is an external being of a higher power. Generally, they teach us that access to the benefits of this omnipotentpresence is reserved to Gods discretion. Many teach that Godsbenevolence is dependent upon adherence to a predetermined set ofreligious doctrine and, if disobedient, we are cut off from thislove.

The Law of Attraction tendsto suggest a different approach. Rather than viewing the God-sourceas an external presence, this principle teaches that each livingthing is an individual manifestation of the same infinite energy.Rather than seeing God as the center of creation, The Law ofAttraction teaches that we are all equal components in theGod-source choosing to learn and experience existence in a physicalform.

Esther and Jerry reawakenedthe world to a forgotten principle in the middle of the 1980s. Sheand Jerry worked together to enhance their spiritual connection. The kindred spirits tend to shy away from the technical termchanneler. Instead, Esther prefers to be referred to as aspiritual receiver. She believes she and Jerry served as a mediumfor a collection of higher beings to deliver their message to ourrealm. Collectively, she and her husband referred to these beings, which number in the hundreds, as Abraham.

Esther Hicks teachingscould be viewed as a modern continuation of the age old source ofcreation. In her own words, she refers to the unified spiritualcouncil as the purest form of love Ive ever experienced. Sheteaches her following that Heaven and Hell exist in the most purephysical form. Rather than an unseen destination of the spiritualrealm, Heaven is a sense of understanding. It is the state ofattachment that binds us to the rest of the Universe. Rather thanbeing an option destination for your eternal Soul, it is a divinebirthright waiting to be experienced in the here and now.Similarly, Hell is the immediate opposite. It is a state of unrestexperienced when one does not embrace their Heavenlybirthright.

Esther Hicks never makesdirect biblical associations in her teachings. Her connection toAbraham has led to her work being titled, Abraham-Hicks groupconsciousness. These spirits are not affiliated with any onereligion, instead, Esthers connection accesses a cultural meltingpot. Abraham has spoken out on the topic stating, We are the heartof all religions.
