I was sick and tired, and had lost nearly half the hair on my head. And I was only 17.

Youd think that as an active and fit teenager, I would have been in my primefull of energy, healthy, and ready to take on the world. At the time, I thought I could do just that, but it was going be tough, considering that I was spending 12 to 14 hours a day in bed sleeping. Even with those precious hours of rest, I could barely get by.

What happened to me is by no means rare. Its happening to millions of people right this very moment. Quite honestly, Im glad that I went through that ordeal, because it unleashed within me a compelling desire to help others find greater health and vitality in their lives. I want you to be one of them.

My name is Yuri Elkaim, and Im on a mission to empower at least ten million people to experience all-day energy and amazing health in the next few years. In just a moment, Ill tell you more about my health challenges, my life-sucking low energy levels, how I overcame them, and how you can do the same in just a few short days. First, however, I want to share what I believe to be true when it comes to health. These beliefs stem from having helped hundreds of thousands of people achieve amazing health over the past 15 years.

Good health is the path to a life of freedom and joy. Furthermore, every single one of us has only scratched the surface of our true health potential. There are many reasons for this, and as I see it, all of them can be summed up with one explanation: we dont understand or appreciate the importance of energy.

Above all else, I value energy. Although many of us take it for granted, feeling energetic is the ultimate sign of great health. Its the essence of truly feeling alive. When youre firing on all cylinders, your mind is sharp and youre physically able to tackle any task that comes your way. Beyond that, the challenges you face at work and in your relationships dont hold you back; rather, they help you reach new levels of accomplishment and happiness.

Without energy, however, your days drag on, with no zest and little joy, and fizzle into an exhausting finish. Thats no way to live, but unfortunately, thats exactly the kind of existence most of us settle for every single day. It shouldnt be like this. Each day is a gift, and we need to live each moment to the fullestgiving the best of ourselves and doing what matters most in our lives.

I am committed to helping us overcome this grim state of affairs. We all deserve healthier, happier lives, but for this to happen, we have to change our approach to nearly everything we do: how we eat has to shift, how we exercise has to evolve, and we have to establish reliable ways to deal with our stress. Without a complete overhaul of these areas of our lives, we cannot hope to truly feel as amazing as were meant to.

While that task may sound daunting, youll find a simple blueprint to this energy makeover in these very pages. Before you can get started, though, we have to acknowledge that almost everything that weve been told or sold about what it takes to live these happier, healthier lives is flat-out wrong. The North American health-care industry is often more concerned with researching cures than providing us with actionable ways to prevent the diseases and conditions so many of us fall victim to. Although Im a geek at heart, the findings of modern health science mean very little to me unless they truly make you feel better and improve your health in the process. After all, you can pretty much find scientific literature to support any point of view nowadays.

Ive also become convinced through research and personal experience that much of what we eat and drink directly contributes to our poor health and nearly nonexistent energy levels. Even those products that are marketed as healthy are anything but, pumped full of preservatives and chemicals that hurt us in the long run. On a very basic level, the foods we eat should make us feel better than before we ate them. Falling asleep after a meal shouldnt be considered the norm, nor should feeling exhausted all the time. Sinking into lethargy after every meal is a ticket to a life of tired desperation.
