Aim and Scope:The New Yearbook for Phenomenology and Phenomenological Philosophy will provide an annual international forum for phenomenology and phenomenological philosophy in the spirit of Edmund Husserls groundbreaking work and the extension thereof in the phenomenological tradition broadly conceived. The editors welcome the submission of manuscripts containing original research in phenomenology and phenomenological philosophy, contributions to contemporary issues and controversies, critical and interpretative studies of major phenomenological figures, investigations on the relation of phenomenology and phenomenological philosophy to the natural and human sciences, and historical studies and documents pertaining to phenomenology and phenomenological philosophy. Translations of classic and contemporary phenomenological texts are also welcome, though translators should make arrangements with the editors in advance.

HERIBERT BOEDER is Professor Emeritus of Philosophy at the University of Osnabrck (Germany). He is the author of Grund und Gegenwart als Frageziel der frh-griechischen Philosophie (1962), Topologie der Metaphysik (1980), Das Vernunfi-Gefge der Moderne (1988), Seditions: Heidegger and the Umit of Modernity (1997), and Die Installationen der Submoderne. Zur Tektonik der heutigen Philosophie (2006). He has published essays on various topics and positions in the history of philosophy, modernity, and contemporary thought, as well as on wisdom. A collection of his essays centered on the distinction between the final epoch of metaphysics and modernity entdded Epoch, ZurKunst des logotektonischen Unterscheidens is forthcoming, as is a collection of writings on early Greek philosophy entdded Weshalb conceptuales Denken? Zu den Krisen derfrh-griechischen Philosophie (which will include a new edition of his 1962 book). He is currendy at work on a book on wisdom and its relation to philosophy.

PATRICK BURKE is Dean of Gonzaga University in Florence. He is the editor of Merleau-Pontys Merleau-Ponty in Contemporary Perspective (1993) and The Incarnate Subject: Malebranche, Biran, and Bergson on the Union of Body and Soul (2001). He has also published articles on Merleau-Ponty and Shelling. He is currently working on a monograph on originality in philosophy: the case of Merleau-Ponty.

JAMES CAREY is a Tutor and former Dean of St. Johns College, Santa Fe, presendy on leave of absence and serving as Distinguished Visiting Professor of Philosophy, United States Air Force Academy He has published articles on Ancient, Medieval, and Indian Philosophy. He is currendy writing a monograph on the philosophical theology of Thomas Aquinas.

BENJAMIN D. CROWE is Assistant Professor (Lecturer) of Philosophy at the University of Utah. He is the author of Heideggers Religious Origins: Destruction and Authenticity (2006) and of Heideggers Phenomenology of Religion: Realism and Cultural Critidsm (forthcoming). Besides his research on Heidegger, he has also published on philosophy of religion, Fichte, Dilthey, and Novalis. He his currently working on Fichtes philosophy of religion during the earlier period of his career (1794-1801).

PAUL DAVIES is Reader in Philosophy at the University of Sussex. He has published widely in Kantian and post-Kantian European philosophy. He is currendy completing a monograph on art and phenomenology.

PARVIS EMAD is Emeritus Professor of philosophy at DePaul University, Chicago and co-editor of Heidegger Studies. His book, On the way to Heideggers Contributions to Philosophy (University of Wisconsin Press) will appear in the spring of 2007.

ANDREW HAAS is Lecturer in philosophy at SUNY Stony Brook. He is the author of Hegel and the Problem of Multiplidty (2000) and The Irony of Heidegger (2007); and has also published articles on Husserl, Levinas and Derrida. Currendy, he is writing a book on metaphysics and aesthetics in Aristotle and Heidegger.

FRIEDRICH-WILHELM VON HERRMANN is Professor Emeritus of philosophy at the University of Freiburg. He is the chief editor of Heideggers Gesamtausgabe , and co-editor of Heidegger Studies. His recent publication includes, vol. II of Hermeneutische Phnomenologie des Daseins: Ein Kommentar Sein und Zeit.

CARLO IERNA is a Research Assistant sponsored by the Fund for Scientific Research - Flanders. He is currently working at the Husserl-Archives Leuven (Belgium) on his dissertation titled Husserls Umarbeitung of the Logische Untersuchungen. Recent publications focus on Husserls early philosophy, in particular his Philosophie der Arithmetik. Specific research interests include early Husserl, the school of Brentano and Munich phenomenology. His research interests include the relation of cognitive science and artificial intelligence to phenomenology.

JOSHUA KATES is the author of Essential History: Jacques Derrida and the Development of Deconstruction (2005). After a long affiliation with St. Johns College, he is currendy an Associate Professor of English at Indiana University. He has published a number of articles on the methodology and presuppositions of Derridean deconstruction.

JACOB KLEIN (1899-1978) received his Ph.D. from the University of Marburg in 1922. His major work, Die griechische Logistik und die Entstehung der Algebra, was published in two parts in Quellen und Studien Geschichte derMathematik, Astronomie und Physik in 1934 and 1936 (English translation, Greek Mathematical Thought and the Origin of Algebra , 1968). The first part was his Habilitation thesis, which was scheduled to take place at the University of Berlin in 1932, but did not due to the political situation in Germany at that time. From 1938 until the time of his death he was a Tutor at St. Johns College, Annapolis. From 1949 to 1958 he was Dean. He is also the author of Commentary on theMeno (1965) and Platos Trilogy (1977). Most of his lectures and essays have been published in Jacob KJein: Lectures and Essays (1985). A German book-editdon of Die griechische Logistik und die Entstehung der Algebra , along with other German writings, is planned.

JAY LAMPERT is Associate Professor of Philosophy at the University of Guelph (Canada). He is author of Synthesis and Backward Reference in Husserls Logical Investigations (1995) and Deleuze and Guattaris Philosophy of History (2006), as well as several articles on Hegel.

KA-WING LEUNG is Research Associate at the Archive for Phenomenology and Contemporary Philosophy, the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He has published articles on Heidegger, Husserl and Chinese philosophy. His research interest straddles Chinese and Western Philosophy and his current projects include a book on Confucianism.

DIETER LOHMAR: is Professor of Philosophy at the University of Cologne. His principal interests are phenomenology, transcendental philosophy, philosophy of formal sciences, intercultural philosophy, empiricism, anthropology, and interdisciplinary approaches in phenomenology. He is author of Phnomenologie der Mathematik (1989), Erfahrung und kate-gonales Denken (1998), Edmund Husserls ( (2000), and Phnomenologie der schwachen Phantasie (2007). He has also authored many articles on phenomenology.
